Spiral Gray C5 Corvette

This car is an 04' and was in pretty good shape to begin with. It had some minor rotary swirls on the top surfaces from the previous owner. The car has been sitting in the lot outside for a little while now, so the paint felt like sandpaper. This paint has tons of metal flake in it which was barely noticeable because all of the contamination on the paint.

My process:

Wash complete exterior

Clean wheels, tires & wheel wells

Detailed engine compartment

Clayed exterior with Kar Kraft clay bar

Buffed top surfaces w/IP with light cutting pad to get rid of the rotary swirls

Buffed complete exterior w/OP using finishing pad

Hand application of EX

Hand application of Pinnacle Signature Series Carnauba Wax (hardly ever use it)

Super Blue dressing on tires & wheel wells

Very nice work.

On the last shot, what is up with the rear bumper? It looks like smudges or inconsistencies in the paint.

I see what you mean. It is actually a reflection of me taking the picture and the wall behind me. I knew someone would point that out sooner or later.

Silver does show reflections!!! ;)

Excellent detail...spiral grey was one of my favorite colors for the C5.

Sucks that the ground is wet, I hate moving my freshly detailed car with water everywhere :D

Don't worry, I always sweep before I move it and make sure to go as slow as possible :)

Do you know hard that is in a Corvette ??? :hairpull

I'll probably be posting up a bunch more Corvette's in the near future because Corvette season is right around the corner here in NE. Can't wait!!

Amazing job as ever , Rick :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs
