Speakers in Kick Panel: any concerns with dirt/debris?

Just wanted to ask those who might have speakers mounted in their kick panels, whether dirt, rain, or snow is a significant issue in interfering with the speakers since they're so close to the ground and people's dirty dirty feet.

I've had quite a few friends in the past have those, and they never had any issues to speak of. Granted, we don't have snow here in the soutch, but we sure have an abundance of rain. Most people will see them before they get in, and the kickpanels themselves do a pretty fair amount of protecting.
