Souvern Question

Would like to know if anyone has done a side by side test of paste Souveran vs. liquid Souveran?

Is there quite a differance between the two for shine, depth, clarity, and etc.,other then price?

I understand that the formuals differ but are the results the same?

Awhile back I played a little with Souverän liquid and paste. Initially they went on top of a well prepped black surface that had several layers of synthetic. There was very little difference in appearance after the first application, but adding layers of paste added depth while adding layers of liquid did not. I later tried Souverän liquid on an area that had several layers of Souverän and P21S paste and the liquid destroyed the depth.

IMO the solvents in Souverän liquid soften the underlying carnauba layers and you end up buffing off all of you previous work. Since I’m constantly playing with my paint I had no idea of Souverän liquid’s durability, but it appears to be an excellent product if you only add wax every few weeks.

I think there was a post some time ago that descibed the liquid as being a completely differennt product.

GET THE PASTE. For the $$, it will last much, much longer - I'm still going on my 1st jar and I bet I've waxed 40 cars. (Mostly the Porsche, which isn't all that big - no lasty letter from Escalade owners, please ;) )

carguy,

I agree with you about Souveran! :xyxthumbs

Each layer, applied 12 to 48 hrs. apart, (up to about 3-4 layers in my testing), will make your paint deeper, darker, and more liquidy looking.

I would say, if you have a darker colored car, and you like the deep, wet, liquid look on your paint, Souveran Paste is the wax to use.
