Soon to start my new position as a Wash Bay and Detail Technician.

Well hopefully this is a good first step towards my detailing career. Gotta start somewhere.

Yes i can say from my own experience that i am glad i served time doing whole sale /volume work . Would not do it again with my current knowledge but i don't regret doing it in the past.

Fantastic explanation...
Maybe, maybe NOT!

Heh heh, we'll talk this to death by the time we get fully on the same page!

So left to right 180 degrees. Makes sense. But that calls for a much larger scratch if this were to happen. It's better to have a bigger one?

Why would going straight (as opposed to in circles/arcs/ovals) cause a larger scratch? Now I'm confused :D

FWIW, I'd move the mitt in short, jiggling motions like a, uhm....jitterbug sander. And I'd have the mitt full of wash solution and I'd stop to rinse/dunk/refill mitt as soon as there wasn't a *LOT* of shampoo mix there (it'll seep out of the mitt and help flush away dirt during the pause-and- "jiggle" motions). The more shampoo mix you have there the better- better lubricity and better flushing away of dislodged dirt.

Hey, I like discussing washing, it's sorta my thing when it comes to detailing....don't mean to drive you nuts or anything.

Well I mean more so, longer swipes with the mitt, if such a piece was lodged a larger scratch would occur. You are much better at explaining things, myself on the other hand. Good luck understanding me.

As for the other tips I will consider those too during my detailing journey.
