Sonus Shampoo - No suds and dirty mitt?

I've just used Sonus Gloss Shampoo by itself to wash the car. I previously used it once but after I washed with my regular shampoo, Meguiars Gold Class. Kind of like a second wash/quick detail. Anyhow, I noticed that the Sonus doesn't sud too well. Does this indicate a higher risk of scratching the paint? Also, after washing a few panels, my cotton washing mitt became very dirty. It was also quite difficult to rinse out the dirt stains. When I wash with Megs GC, my mitt stays pretty much clean throughout the whole wash. Did I just seriously mar up my paint? It's too dark to check now but I'm a little concerned. :confused:
 
How much Sonus Gloss Shampoo did you use?



The ration I find works best (in normal water), is about 1 ounce per two gallons of wash water. At this ratio the lubrication should be excellent. Suds will depend on your water hardness.
 
I used the bottle's recommendation. 1 ounce for about 4-5 gallons. I will try a stronger concentration next time. What about the mitt getting dirty? It seems Sonus shampoo transfers dirt to the mitt while Meg CG just emulsifies dirt and it comes off without sticking to the mitt.
 
How much GC are you using compared to the Sonus?



The idea behind Sonus Gloss Shampoo is to add gloss and protection while you wash. Most car shampoos use "conditioners" (oils) as a glossing agent. Sonus Gloss Shampoo uses a polymer. The polymer reduces sudsing and cleaning action. It's a great shampoo for cars that are kept clean.

So what you're saying is that for a car that hasn't been washed in say, a month should be washed with GC instead of the Sonus?
 
The Sonus car wash product is good but you should expect lo-sudsing. I have tried it in a couple of different ratios and find that the 1/2 TBS/gallon of water works well.
