Some Cool Cars, 997's Turbo's, GT3, Panamera Turbo, Lotus Exige, 993 Turbo...

wait a second...

you used 105 as a finishing polish on a Pcar? orbital or not, there is no way good, high gloss was obtained from it! no matter the pad, the pcxp and 105/(whatever pad) leaves micromarring in my experience...and I've tried a lot of pads with it!

I am surprised someone like you would finish down with 105. I had to look at the name again just to be certain! didnt you say in another thread you need to finish off with a finer polish after 105???

Sick work on that 993....

Out of curiosity, do you quote an hourly rate to a customer like that, or a total price up front? 22 hours on paint alone is a LOT of hours on a car of this size, but wow, do your results speak for themselves!

Thanks, this is one of my regulars, I've fully corrected 4 of his cars now so he knows what to expect, but to answer your question, I do not quote, I have a pretty good idea of what it will take when I give them a ball park figure per hours of work. I estimated that car to take me at least 12-14 hours. After claying off this horrible black film all over the car, the true damage was revealed and I called him to let him know the situation was more serious then I expected. I think I only billed him for like 19 hours though so... 3 of those hours are easily washing, claying, waxing, Q-tipping and such piddly stuff so probably at least 19 hours of real correction.

Josh - sick work as expected man. Great non-conventional write up on the challenges high quality detailers may often face but is rarely talked of - like working at a place that isn't too friendly and having to get things done in less than perfect conditions - like outside.

Love the rides and look forward to all the other crazy stuff you have waiting to show off

Thanks, yea sometimes there are challenges. That dealer's Sale Manager and I had a few words to say the least at the end of the day. I wasn't impressed with their attitude towards me and I let them and my client know it too.

Sorry for not having enough before pics, just haven't done a write up in a while so I stopped taking as many pics....

Awesome job Josh. Glad to see you posting your work again...

Thanks, I'm going to try to start posting up more C/B's again. Just hope I can come up with something new and not the usual all the time. I mean we've all seen swirls removed a millions time right... ha

BTW, for anyone reading this thinking I work for a dealership. I DO NOT WORK FOR A DEALERSHIP!!! and never will... :faint:

Thanks, yea black is like all I seem to do anymore these days...:bawling:

Same client with the black PanaTT and black 997TT also has a black 599, black GTR (sold), black Escalade, black F250 and just sold his ZR1 but it was dark gray surprisingly... maybe that's why he sold it. ha

Oh I've got more black cars then you can shake a stick at.

Another of my clients has not one but two black Diablo's a 95TT and roadster? I'm like why two similar cars the same color? ha

oh well

Great work Josh! That is sad about that dealership treating you like that.

thanks, yea I've had that before, you just never know with stealerships, but most don't like it when we come in to do what they're not good at.

Nice job, all of them look really good. Partial to the red Porsche though, great color on a Carrera. :)

thanks, yes I'm very partial to red SS paint on any car.

Very nice work Josh - nice to you you have been staying busy... Like others have said good to you posting again

Thanks, I've been steadily busy up till this last week, otherwise you would not be reading this thread. :rofl

Moritz alone could keep both of us in business....

No doubt, I've actually had two dealerships hire me to correct damages they've done but they did not like paying for it.:sign

Nice results. That little Excige is cool. Word to the wise - don't ever mask up the rear plexiglass screen on the versions of those that have one.

You must have a great relationship with youc client to prep his vehicles for him pre-delivery. Either that or the dealership burned him badly once upon a time.

Excellent job, Josh. The Panamera is a love hate thing but it sure does get it. Worked on one back in January.

Thanks, yea at first I didn't like them but you get the right size rims on them 20-22's they will look good. That one I did has 20's on it and I still think they're a bit too small.

Thanks, I don't think he got burned by the dealership, he's been a loyal client of there's for about 15 years now. He just wanted it prepped correctly from the get to and knows the dealership doesn't do what I do the way I do it.
