Soft rubber trim

Bunky

Detailing Gnosis
My 97 Dakokta has soft rubber like trim around the windshield and it has obviously aged and now very uneven in appearance. I have tried to clean them but nothing really seems to affect them.

What product can I apply that will stick? I have used Mothers Back to Black (going to get some PB TR soon) but it did not even wet the surface. I am wondering if even PB TR that would work on rubber.

I saw DG 271 RBD and wondering if that could work.

Suggestions?

This has work for me on some of my customers cars Bunky.........1Z Einszett Rubber Care Stick Gummi Pflege, give it try.

The TR will work but I would suggest that you apply it with a foam paint brush...layer a coat on and let sit...it should soak in repeat until it sits nicely on the surface then buff with a clean towel

I agree with the TR posts. It should help do the trick. The key is probably in the amount of coats you are going to have to use as the rubber trim has probably dried out a bit.

I use the PB B&B on my inside door rubbers and its great. They stay black,ply-able and seem to stay black and rich for a long period.Just try it on the softer area you are talking about and also the TR product.Could be one is better than the other in the elements by your windshield.:bigups

One my 08 posts lives...well, I tried PB TR and BnB. It did not work. I guess you can only expect so much since the truck is 12 years old now. The paint did not last.

I am not sure about this so please check my info,I think I recall a post about a dye product for trim??

Anyone here got some news on this//I think its a trim dye not sure if it's compatible with the material you are dealing with...:inspector: BUNKY........Remember FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION WE WILL GET ER DONE.: drool:

I missed the thread in its first life. I thought TR was targeted more towards textured material. Though if memory serves, someone was using it as a tire dressing. I'm kind of surprised that BnB didn't address you needs.

As a note, since the door seals were mentioned. I have used PB's NL for several years now with excellent success.
