Soft, cheap WalMart WW towels

Mainstays 2 Pack Ultra Fine Waffle Weave Microfiber Kitchen Towels

Found in the "Housewares" section of WalMart with all the kitchen towels.

16in. x 26in. Made in China

77% polyester 23% polyamide

These towels feel nice and soft even before a washing. They feel MUCH softer than the Eurow WW's sold in Costco in the towel section.

They passed the "CD test." I wiped lightly, then harder and harder, etc... until it took a scrubbing of the CD to scratch it. So I feel it should be safe on paint since you won't be rubbing hard or scrubbing your car dry. Perfect for that extra towel to go along with your main drying WW for tight spaces and catching drips.

For $2.96 for 2 towels, I bought 4 packs (8 towels)

Well if your car's paint is softer than a CD, then I guess it won't. Also I see no reason why they wouldn't be absorbent.

to go along with his find, i found a 25 pk of microfibers at sam's club for 12$, they seem decent...i'll post pics later
 
Well I washed them with a 1/4oz. of Charlie's Soap on a mini load and dried on low with an extra "air fluff" and I am very impressed with how soft they are.

They seem like a really nice towel! Honestly.

They are softer than my Meguiar's Water Magnet that is made in China.

I'm not certain what material the sewn edging is made of. Also, removing the tags are difficut since they are stitched into the edging. But it doesn't bother me.

Can't beat that price.

We purchaes 3 pack of those last week for window washing( an extension of the pressure washing business).Needless to say I stole a dozen for drying our Expedition.
 
I bought some of the wally WW towels after reading this thread...I washed them and as said by Splichy they were very soft afterwards....

It rained out and after the rain wanted to try the absorbency so I wiped down the hood ...well they grabbed the water fine and sucked it right up..I wrung it out and did the roof...well it did just fine.. so all and all not a bad towel for the money....my girlfriend likes them in the kitchen also....do great as a wipe up and drying towel...lol

:eek: No! Better go out and buy some more before she steals them all from you!

Thanks for trying them out. I'll be using it this weekend as that handy second towel to wipe up drips and tight areas.

The corners of a couple of my towels feel a bit rough though leading me to believe that the stiching may be a different material than what is used with Korean made or higher quality towels. But thet towel itself is soft and cleared the "CD test" like I mentioned.

Rumor has it that Target has similar towels. I may have to check out and report back

The yellow ones? I have used those MF's, dont really care for them. JMO.
 
I buy the Bulk MF's from sams. I use them for waterless wash and final wipe downs. There nice and soft. I still love the Cobra super plush for polish and wax removal
 
Where do you get Charlie's Soap ?? I've looked around for some in the stores and haven't been able to spot it. Been thinking about getting some of the specialized MF cleaner from the vendors, but would like to try Charlie's Soap first.
 
Just went to the local SuperCentre and bought a couple of packs of these waffle weaves. Hope to give them a try sometime this weekend, but first impressions are that they are really soft. Hope they work out all right, or else I'm out 6 bones. Sham-on! :)

This is the cheapest place I've found. $50 w/ free shipping. I bought 5 gallons of it plus a gallon of their APC. I use it for my regular laundry too. At 1 ounce per medium load (some more for a large load), a little goes a long way.

The MF we purchased from Sam's were blue.I did not see any other colors teh day we were there.
 
I was always under the impression that you had to spend good money on MF towels for good ones (that wouldn't be harmful to the cars finish)
Would you be using these to remove LSP's or just for drying?

As with a lot of other products, that is not always the case. Just because something costs three times as much as something else doen't mean it will perform better. That's true with a lot of things other than detailing supplies.
