ok, lol.

Accum, have you used the optimum as well?

There both 40 for the gallon, so whichever one you like better is the one i'll get. thanks again!

I use ONR now and then, but not for regular washes. I've never tried their conventional shampoo, but when Tom P. says it's virtually as good as Griot's that's good enough for me to recommend it.

I just stick with the Griot's because it's 100% satisfactory for me and I'm not gonna risk any "oops!" to save the cost difference. But that's just me and if somebody else wants to a) use ONR instead, or b) save $ with Optimum's (conventional) shampoo or DuraGloss, then cool...do what's best for *you*. Heh heh, guess that "best for you" is tricky to determine until you'ver tried different things though, huh?

As accumulator rightly says, what has worked for me is fk118 (out of fk1016, 1z pearls, sonax, turtlewax). Will try ONR at some point.

Αχ αυτό το κλικ!!!

thanks guys.

I'm just kind of trying to get products that i can stick to, I try an research as much as possible because I don't like surprises. I like consistency, that way I can master it. I'm not a fan of "trying" things. lol

Heh heh, you don't hear *that* too often here at Autopia! :xyxthumbs

Yeah, that's one big reason why I keep using EF Hi-Intensity for my APC, I'm so used to it that I can easily dilute it by eye to all sorts of various strengths. Not a huge issue with shampoos though IMO, as most seem to be about the same concentration.

Hey Accumulator - do you use Griots in your foam canon. Am contemplating buying a canon in an attempt to minimize damage, and was just wondering - everyone talks about using this or that specific soap.

I use CG Wash and Clear 1oz in my foam lance filling the rest of the bottle to the top with water and it foams insane and rinses clean.

I also use 1oz of CG Wash and Clear in a 5 gallon bucket with about 4 gallons of water as a regular wash. I used to use Meguiars Gold Class and loved the smell, but I feel the grout sponge glides better with the CG Wash and Clear. Just be careful as in higher concentrations it claims to strip LSP. I have several coats of Zaino on applied by the very talented and gifted David Fermani (who did any excellent job correcting and detailing my new car).

On a separate note, I have a gallon of ONR and was reading you can mix it with other shampoo to add lubricity. Has anyone tried this and if so what results have you had? Less marring? No noticeable difference?

icall- Don't mix ONR with conventional shampoo. They work via completely different methodologies which aren't compatible. No time to elaborate, gotta catch a plane...

Thanks Accumulator. Safe trip!

I read they could be mixed and was hoping to obtain some encapsulating protection along with the foaming and lubricity of my traditional soaps. I will leave the ONR for QD purposes and give it a try on some of my interior wood trim. Perhaps also using it as a step between polishing/AIO and sealing.

Thanks again.

Finish Kare 1016 Wash & Wax Concentrate. locally I am able to get NXT, maybe you should try that if you live in a "hard water' area.

I am one of the Duragloss users - have been for years and at 17 bucks a gallon (at my local Carquest) I ain't switchin!

In my rush to go check out a potential dog-hauler purchase (nah, didn't buy it), I missed the above.

I've never used my foam cannon as my pressure washer died and I've yet to replace it. I just use the Griot's in my Gilmour foam gun.

I don't see the foamcannon as being a really beneficial means of handling wash-induced marring. I'd think of it as more of a presoak because *IMO* you'll still need to either a) blast dirt off with the pressure washer on a "harder than foaming" setting and/or b) affect some mechanical agitation to get the dirt off. But hey, that's just my guess as I've never used the foam cannon. I know that SuperBee364 has done some OK touchless washes, but that was him, with his experience, on his LSPs and I really don't think that route would work out for me. Maybe it would work for *you* though :nixweiss
