Soap Recomendations

Ive been using Meguiars Gold Class Soap for quite some time and just ran out this past weekend. I am in the middle of placing an order with PAC what do you guys recomend? I was going to purchase the new PB soap but didn't really want to spend $15.00 for soap!

But i did manage to rack up a $50.00 order from PBs anyway...

Read my review on NXT from a little bit ago today.

I also noticed that NXT does what it says and does not leave harsh water spots behind when washign in the warm sun like others I used.

Is there any differences in the concentrated version?

I'm not too sure bout that, maybe Dwayne or Gary can chime in. But from the look of it the concentrated version is a better deal

civicex do you mean you can soap down an entire car and rinse without having the residue or soap still there? I agree I love Ultimate Auto Wash

No, well, I don't know I do panels at a time. But when I do it out in the sun the water drys so fast it leaves nasty water marks on my car. It did not happen with this soap.

I use 1Z Perls Shampoo for maintenace washes, and Zip Wax before details. I find the Zip Wax a little stronger, but it doesn't have anywhere near the lubricity that the 1Z does, that's why I only use it before details.

Thats what im trying to get to the bottom of.... they sell Four Star Ultimate Auto Wash Shampoo! and Four Star Car Wash Concentrate!

so ...my question still is.... What is the difference if any? one costs signifigantly less why?

The one you're thinking of is part of the professional detailer's line of products. 4* Ultimate Auto Wash is part of the Ultimate line, and leaves behind some protection and slickness (helps "refresh" the layer of UPP) AFAIK. I doubt the concentrated one does this.

The PB wash is pretty concentrated. I found myself using only about half as much of the PB as I would of the Meg's Gold Class. For something a little less inexpensive, I like the BMW shampoo. I think it's $7.25 for over a quart, and it's about as concentrated as the PB wash (though not quite as slick). Overall, it's tough to beat Gold Class at that price point ($10 for a gallon at Target). It's an excellent value.

I dont know if there is a BIG-LOT in your area but they have ZYMOL carwash soap a gallon @ $2.99 + tax of course.

Also I have been using JOHNSON BABY SHAMPOO to clean 2 of my customers vehicle working great wont strip the wax and a good amount of sud.

Another vote for NXT . I like it alot , it leaves the surface slick. Until I find something better its what I use the most now.

Not trying to give you a bad time or argue with what you are doing, but....How did you ever decide to try baby shampoo as a car wash?
I sometimes wonder how some of the home remedy type of things ever get started.
Like someone was sitting around the house and thought, " I wonder how baby shampoo would work to wash my car", or "I'l bet peanut butter will remove the old wax from my trim", or "Easy-Off oven cleaner is just the thing to remove painted on signs." What causes these ideas to pop into someone's head?

Charles :)

VERY FAIR QUESTION. It has a neutral ph of 7. Its one of the safefest way to remove dirt and not harm NOTHING on a vehicle paint . TRY IT

I will say I like NXT. Rinses well and leaves my finish pretty slick. I would have to give props to GC too. Used for a long time.

I like the NXT wash better than Gold Class.
I like Sonax better than both.
I believe I will like Poorboy's new wash better than all of them.
