So we've established that you're obsessed... but have you waxed your dictionary?

I haven't detailed out my dictionary, but about once a month or so my son and I clean, do the interiors with cotton swabs, polish, clean the wheels & tires on our 1/18th scale diecast collection, all 500 or so of them. It is really great to know that we aren't the only ones this way.

Lets See:

Applied Carnuba wax to kitchen table, dining table and coffee tables.

MF and SToners on all the Mirrors in the house.

Wax golf club shafts.

AIO on shower stall fiberglass. (PS I reccommend not using it on the floor as it gets a tad slippery in the AM shower)

Tried everything on the faded black plastic mailbox. Still working on that one.

Coat of mothers cleaner wax to the outside of the wash buckets to see how it was.

But I am curious what the heck that cover is made from on that dictionary. Mine are like a cloth or something porous.

GMN -

And I thought I was the only one! I always tell myself that that I do it to keep them from getting any rust in the humid summers. It has nothing to do with any obsession. No. Really. I swear! :scared

When i got my new pc buffer - 5 months back i tried it out on a tray(the ones to carry food). -I spent about an hour testing it out before i used it on the cars -

thats as extreme as i have ever got, along with pc buffing my shoes once . (dont bother trying this, it wrecked my boots - took the finish off them)!!

I keep my 3 diecast 1:18 models in tip top shape, a red M coupe, a black Hummer wagon, and a silver vette. All recieve Klasse and Souveran, except the silver Vette. I just layer on the SG on the vette. all three of them have their respectable display cases to keep the dust off them.

Shoes, don't even get me started.

Dress shirts - I don't ear dress shirts often but I iron them myself, heck i'm the only person in the house to iron. My little sister has the ebst uniform at her catholic school. Razor creases running down her long sleeve shirts arm and short sleeves. I am the only one to put military creases into my shirt in the whole cadet corps (150 or so cadets.) 2 fore and 3 aft. No starch, just steam and man do they come out like razors, I'll get pictures soon.

My future plans - paint my computer case yellow, going to do 2-3 layers of primer, and 4-5 coats of color, and maybe a few coats of clear. Of course wet-sanded with 2000 grit sander paper inbetween each coat, and 3000 grit finishing off the top coat.

Ain't being overly obsessive over small things fun?

I have also waxed the washer and dryer, they got the blitz treatment. :D I have a 6'' black safe in my house, I used a wool pad and some Fine Cut Compound to remove some swirls and then polished it with some SMR. Then AIOx2 and SGx6..........I think we all may need professional help.......hey maybe that can be our next group buy. :D

haha, nooooooo. what kind of shoes do you have? smooth black leather? There may be hope. I used some 3M scotch brite pads on my combat boots before (Corcoran Jump boots) to remove all the polish/wax build up and really make the leather smooth. Now they are like black mirrors :) all it took was 5 saturdays with 2-3 hours rubbing each saturday........too cold to wash cars.......

I mostly wear boots - formal & casual ones - i have a pair of boots - not combat but very alike - the problem ive got is the leather has wrinkles/ cracks - do u have this problem? I must use 3m on mine also!!!

John, in what terms of wrinkles/cracks? I have the ones from normal wear and tear, can't really solve those, but with enough layers of polish they seem to be filled in. Can you post a picture?

Better to be busy detialing other things besides cars than watching TV, gosh I miss TV, not to mention cable since I dont have any. Wonder why most of America is overweight......

soz about the delay to this - i just took a shower.

I think they are down to wear and tear - ive used shoe wax - shoe liquid - pc buffed them then hand rubbed them - they are still visible - ill take a pic for u tommoorw - I have to reinstall the software for my webcam - Ive been having problem with the drivers.

Im glad someone else does there shoes up like mine.(p.s i forgot ive also pc buffed my belt buckle - its chrome - it looks like silver - i just keep the buffer on at warp speed and let it go and go for hours - its so shiny its hard to focus on it - ill take a snap of that too.

Im off to bed now - work in the morning - its 11:15 here in the uk.

Good night Folks!!

Thanks for all your compliments (I guess that's what you can call them!) No, I did not use my PC ;) . I thought about it, then realized there wasn't much to polish. After the ten or so layers of Klasse, I added the #26. I noticed that this really added some shine and reflection. Another layer was great, too, but not as dramatic a difference. The FI was for a quick wipe before the picture. All of my Hot Wheels cars and model cars have some kind of wax on them, and my speakers, stereo, and portable CD player also have one wax or another on them. I'm a freak!!

yep this me also!!!

I have Zainoed my~

Shower (dont do down farther that the tub line, gets to slick!)

Toolbox

Lawn mower

Air compresser

Well all this shoe care, metal polishing are done by hand. I fear the heat from the buffer on my precious shoes and metal insignia. all this came about (ironing too), because of joining the Arm Junior ROTC program. If they weren't there, all the metal polishing, and ironing skills wont be there. I spit-shined shoes for a long tiem though, since I was 12 or so, so I got close to 6 years under my belt with polishing shoes.

More tomorrow,

Jason

Woa Chuckmotor, a swirl-free, wet-looking dictionary!

Hahaha Steve, those "plates" still make me laugh. Squeaky clean... great job!

My upcoming project is the old refridgerator in the garage. There is still a good amount of clear left, but it is covered in swirls. It also has a ton of factory GE orange-peel so I'm probably going to practice my wetsanding skills...

Currently, I've Rain-X'd my exterior home windows, AIO'd the stainless steel kitchen appliances, QD'd everything that is basically non-pourous....

Happy detailing,

~bw
