Yes, since discovering this wonderful site, I've fallen victim to the PC syndrome. Let me lay out for you what I've got (or is on the way) and hopefully you veterans can answer a few questions for me. Some of this stuff is OTC so be nice :D

So, first question - Is the Meg's #9 more or less aggresive than SSR #1? Than SSR #2.5?

Do I need anything between the SSR#1 and the Klasse? If so, what would you suggest?

I've read that Souveran doesn't last to long, should I switch to NXT? The car *never* see's the inside of a garage.



I've got what looks like fairly moderate swirling on my white '04 Impreza that I'd like to work out, I'll try to get some pictures one of these day's when it actually stops snowing. Sorry for the novel but I'd like to do it right the first time, and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, I'm not going to knock your OTC products. Your selection looks good.

As far as Meg # 9, I don't see any need for it. SSR 2.5 on your most agressive pad should remove any swirling you have. Any hazing from the SSR 2.5 can be removed buy going to SSR1 and a polishing pad.

I always go from 2.5 to 1 with no steps in between.

You should use Klasse AIO before the KSG.
 
The Meguiar's #9 was a clearance item I picked for $3.50 while looking for some replacement light bulbs. So it's not going to break my heart not to use it, but at the price it can't hurt to have around eh?
 
About the PC7424...this will be by far the best item you've ordered. I just started using it myself for a year and I can't understand why I waited this long to get it. PC has definitely made my job easier and plus, the polishes, waxes, sealants, etc will last 2-3-4-5 times longer then if you did it by hand!

According to the Megs web site # 9 swirl remover has no abrasives and it fills in and hides swirl marks. so its really a glaze. PB SSR1 is a very mild polish that removes the finest of micro maring.
 
Not to :argue but I thought the #9 was still supposed to have very mild abrasives. As in, not functionally nonabrasive like #3/#5/#7/#81. I haven't used it in forever, but it used to result in *very* slight color transfer from good-condition single stage. Mike P. recently said that the way to do correction (and he was referring to actual, abrasive/mechanical correction) with #9 is to use it with a rotary. It is *very* mild though. Milder than anything I've ever needed on Subie clear.

Not one to pick a fight, but I use #9 on my finish to remove the inevitable minor imperfections from washing and life in general on my daily driver. I haven't used SSR1, but from what I'm told they are about the same level of abrasive. The above sounds like their #7 - a pure polish with no abrasives.

Ok so I guess I'm wrong about that. I thought that when it described #9 as being" completely non-abrasive" it meant just that. I didn't understand how it could remove swirls without filling them.
 
Any thoughts on switching out the Souveran for NXT? I'd like it to look good, but will take protection over looks any day of the week.

It's an '04, Aspen White. The car is sooooo much more fun to drive than my old Honda Accord, and looks a heckuva lot better too. Does Souveran have the same effect on light colored cars that it does on darker color? As I've browsed through the threads I've noticed it used a lot on reds, blacks, and blues. Looks great, but if something a bit more durable will give the same look for white, I'd be happy to use that. I just mention NXT because I can get it local. :p

I've never tried Souveran on white, but if you have them both....why not try topping NXT with Souveran? Souveran is the easiest paste wax in the world to use, and Lee's (Silver Lexus on the forum) Silver ES looked awesome with Souveran on it. I dig NXT as well. I love the look it has given me on every color I've tried it on.
