So I finally detailed a normal car

Nice little Mazda Millenia.



There was no shade and I am now out of the Clearkote carnuba sample I had, so I used Vanilla Moose and Car Polishes Final Polish. Luckily, my boys and I finished it by about 11 am, so the paint didn't get too hot.

Have you tried Car Polishes Final Polish ove S100 SEC? If so what kind of results did you get from that combination? I recently bought a bottle of Car Polishes Final Polish, and I was planning on trying it over the S100 SEC.

They are very nice cars, especially with the supercharged engine (210 hp). This is the 3rd one for my customer. One was gold and the last two have been green.

I haven't. I like Vanilla Moose so much that I sent my remaining S100 SEC to Pats300ZX when I mailed him some Clearkote's Quikshine to try.



It should work fine though. FP has a pretty wet and deep look for a polymer.

I was planning on one coat of S100 SEC followed by one coat of FP, and topped with S100. I am using Quick Shine for a QD. I hope that I can get some nice results on white with this combination.

Me too. I am probably going to get a new (or more likely, take advantage of the glut of late model used cars at low prices) car before the end of the year and the Millenia is one of the cars I am considering. For some reason, Mazda makes great cars but they depreciate more quickly than Hondas or Toyotas. I'd love to find a low mile late 80's/early 90's Mazda 626 GT 5 speed-those turbo engines were extremely strong for their day.

You will have to get a used one. The Millenia is no longer made. It was replaced this year by the the Mazda 6. The 6 has a more sporty ride than the Millenia. The cost also went down (which is nice!). Not quite as luxurious as the Millenia but still nice. For the $$$ an excellent car and very worthy (if not better) replacement for the Millenia.



Mazada has done an excellent job in revamping its tired lineup in the last couple of years. I agree in the late 80’s and early 90’s Mazda had some great little cars. Unfortunately, except for the miata, they really lost their way with the death of the RX-7 and then selling the boring 626s and protégés of the mid 90’s. Hopefully we are seeing a return to those better and more fun to drive cars with their new offerings.

Both of my boys liked it also. After we finished it, they kept walking around it admiring the shine--which they were about 90% responsible for since I cleaned the interior after I washed it. They did the polishing and waxing. Not too bad for a 14 and a 16-year-old!

Scott, why does it never seem you get a car that's paint is really swirled? Always seems like you get cars that only need a "mostly" cosmetic polish and then wax it up. Obviously this car's paint was in pretty good condition.......
