What time do you have in mind?

Still at Mike's place??? :D:D:D

Not if everyone needs someplace to park. :D

I'm still interested and Aug 13th is far enough away that I should be able to keep it open (an increasingly difficult thing to do these days it seems).

Heeeeyyy! I never check this section of the forum and the one time I do. . . . good idea DetailingFOOL! Patrick has all the time in the world down there surfing his days away  8/13 works well for me, I am only booked until mid-July, ha ha. I haven't spent much time in Malibu so it would be cool to see what its all about.

What are we planing on doing while at the meet? Is there anything auto related in the area we can tour or gawk at? Maybe member "Malibu" can keep this in the back of his mind as he drives around town for the next few weeks to find a suitable location?? I am down to help out where needed as time permits to make this event enjoyable for all and worth the drive we all will be making.

We could always meet up here in Santa Barbara, we have beaches and . . . me  :nixweiss

Santa Barbara- I can provide a place to detail- parking lot empty during summer at school where I teach. I have the canopies and so forth.

Well, we need to figure out if we want to have a full blown detail day, or just a get together, with maybe a bbq at a nice park, take pics, talk about what crazed detailers talk about. I have a EZ up, and ice chests, I know some park workers so we may be able to tap into electricity, and kind of have a combo BBQ/Detail/BS/whatever/get together in August. Our own Hot August Afternoon? We actually have a car show every Saturday Aft/eve during the summer. All the local folks bring out there "best of" rides.

Maybe I should start a pole......

Or take Rob up on his Parking lot idea...Rob, what are you doing up at 5:30 am ?! Andrew, are you just getting up or just going to bed ?

I think I don't remember why I was up at 1a on Sunday, , , ,much past my bedtime. :p There are plenty of great parks around this area but if we have access to a school it could work out nicely. The problem with parks is that parking on the weekends can get a little scarce, especially with the amount of people I would hope to turn out. :cough :cough. On that note. . . can we get an idea of how many people are willing to come up here???

I vote for an all out detailing extrava-freakin-ganza. I work part-time for Trader Joe's and might be able to swing some Q-ables if not some refreshments.

Rob,

What is the deal with a power supply at this school? Do they have events going through the summer that might conflict i.e. summer semester, sports, etc? We don't need a permit or anything do we :nixweiss :D

I may be interested in joining in on the festivities if it is near the Orange County or L.A. County area. Santa Barbara is just a little too far for me. Keep us informed on the details and we shall see. I would love to talk detailing and such.

No summer events- weekends are totally open. I have a wash mat, vacuboom, 2 canopies, Honda generator, if needed. My house is just too small, but near the school. My room would be available for lunch, or we could go to any restaurant.

Rob

I would like to have an idea of where people will be traveling from, then we can try to make it easy for all attending. Please cut and paste, and add your location. Give your location and we can asses a mtg area.

I'm down to drive there if I don't have anything that conflicts with this day.
