smeared, foggy windows?

What would you suggest I should try to eliminate this? I get rid of it after a 30-45 min window cleaning with rain-x window cleaner and paper towels but it always comes back withen a few days. I have heard rumors of newspaper being good, I searched and someone said you crumple it up and apply window cleaner with it? :nixweiss Seems strange to me.

yeah the ink in the newspaper acts like a polish, so it works better to remove the film. Don't use it on tinted windows though...

usually some microfiber and water are good enough for me.

I will try the newspaper. What kind of MF do you use? the only WW I have is a drying towel, the rest are for paint and multipurpose cleaning. i have more on order.

you know how the MF have two sides?

I use the side with shorter threads to wipe the mirrors, it seems to have more bite. I use pak shaks ultras.

I would recommend not using the paper towels on your windows. Most paper towels have drying agents in them that can streak your windows. If you have MF's use them instead. Stoners IG is great on windows. Follow the directions and you will be impressed. I am able to get IG at WalMart.

Coffee filter paper is very good at cleaning glass (non tint). What products are you using to clean the interior plastic? This can effect a lot of fogging

You said you're using Rain-X to clean the windows. Are you using the Rain-X cleaner that's supposed to leave the water beading coating behind? That may be causing your haze. If you don't have tinted windows, I'd recommend using a glass polish, or if you don't have one, a chrome polish (not metal polish. Chrome polish). This may help to rid the glass of the coating. After that, use a regular non-ammoniated glass cleaner on the insides and save the Rain-X for the outside.

My GM Owner's Manual says to use Bon Ami on the outside of the windshield. I have used it when it gets so bad I can't see through it and it works great. I put NOTHING else on it after I clean it.

I have had great results by just using a MF with a little water, then using another MF to dry it. It removes my dog's nose prints on the back windows really well.
