Small issue with Zaino Z8

Chaps,

I recently tried Z8 for the first time. I put down a layer of Collinite 845, then did a final wipe down with Z8.

As good as it looked right after I was done with it, the next day, I could see exactly where I had applied and wiped off the Z8. As in, my paint was full of circles and streaks.

I sprayed it on as "thin" as possible, which is hard as the sprayer isn't very good, then wiped it off using a nice MF.

Thoughts?

I had this problem and I diluted the Z-8, with distilled water. 2 parts Z8 to 1 part water, or 1 to 1.

1 to 1 worked for me.

You could also go over the paint with a damp microfiber for your streaks.

Z8 is meant to be buffed off lightly after you wipe it in. So keep one MF towel to spread it around, and a second dry one to wipe a second time. With that method, I've never had one streak with Z8, even on black.

Never had any problems with Z8, but never used it over fresh wax. Try waiting a day before using Z8 or if your can't wait, use Z6.

Yea, Collinite is full of solvents and "oil like" substances. That's what gives it that soaking wet look. I would either, A. Wait till the next day, or B. Wash the car with Z7 then Z8 it.

Just my $0.02

Z8 is more of a sealant correct? Could it be because you used it over a wax. Sealants are usually unable to bond properly to waxes which results in streaking. Just a thought.

Maybe let the Collinite cure for longer before you apply the Z8.

Yep, I think it has more to do with the Z8 affecting the fresh wax than the Z8 actually streaking. Apply another coat of 845, then Z8 after you wash it the next time.
