slickness never lasts for me...normal or am i doing something wrong

Yeah, I dunno what went wrong with me and Gold Class, I used to think it was great stuff, and it does suds up like no other, but it streaks like a son of a gun no matter how much I dilute it down. I guess I suddenly became more discriminating or maybe the finish wear on my old car was such that I didn't notice the streaking (or maybe I just got the cars up to a "shine" level that the streaks became noticeable), but now I'm sorry I got so much of the stuff for cheap at Target :o That and the other 100's of washes worth of other soaps I've "accumulated"

After washing why not just spend another 15 minutes using a spray enhancer like UQD or Z6 or Z8. Super slick paint when done and the look is fresh and free of streaks and waterspots.

man same for me i clay bar every month or so because i love the feelinf of super slick and soft paint.....however it doesnt' help that my car gets parked at work in a gravel parking lot with constant dust....this week i washed my car and it feel like sand paper (well lets no go that far but u get the point) when last week it was just clay barred and waxed and felt amazing) i use gold glass car wash less than a frekin cap full for the whole car just enough suds....any suggestions....i cant find any of these products in montreal.such as zaino i would like to try it

What I was suggesting was that it appears that there is not necessarily a strong causal link between slickness and resistance to accumulation of dirt/grit (ease of cleaning).

Some products that are super slick have great resistance to grime/dust, while others don't. Similarly, some products that are not super slick have a great resistance to grime/dust, while others don't..

I understand what you're saying and I'm not arguing, I just never really experienced that...although Souveran would be a pretty close call; that stuff just doesn't shed dirt all that readily for me yet some people think it's really slick.

We're not on opposite sides of the fence on this, I just haven't experienced the same phenomena (unless the Souveran qualifies). Dirt seems to just rinse right off my slick finishes, the actual washing (after an initial rinse) often seems almost redundant.

This might just be another of those YMMV things, with specific products and situations behaving in certain ways :nixweiss Now if Collinite, #16, or (fresh) UPP were both slick and retainging dirt, then *that* would be an interesting case that I'd sure like to investigate. Heh heh, I use so few LSPs these days that my knowledge base might be sorta limited.

Accumulator:

Funny you mention Souveran - because that was just the product I had in mind.

Lately- I've mostly been alternating back and forth between AJT and Souveran. The Souveran is slick as heck but seems to accumulate dirt/grime very quickly. In contrast, the AJT is not very slick at all but is one of the best products I've ever used in terms of resisting the accumulation of dirt/grim and still looking nice and glossy over an extended period of daily driving.

Heh heh, every time it might appear that you and I are headed towards some :argue it turns out that a little additional info clears things right up :D

This dirt-retention issue is one of my few gripes about Souveran and one of the reasons why I'm intrigued by the supposed non-retention offered by some "exotic" waxes.
