Single step polish help

Thanks but I am going to D151 route. Any one top it and if so, what with?

Depends on what your goal is, but I'd stick with stuff that is know to work with Meguiar's oils. Some good stuff that comes to mind for lighter colors, #16 or IW845. For darks #26 or #21.

Thanks. It is a dark green. Of the 26 and 21, which will last longer and which will not stain black trim?

LC green pad, Meg's D151 or Menz 203 polish, and whatever LSP you want.

Yeah that!

Depending on the paint you may be able to get away with an orange LC pad too...or you may have to use a white LC if it's touchy paint. The tangerine LC Hydro would be another option too.

For my 1-step polish then LSP I used M105 and 5.5'' Tang Hydro pad or if I am doing an AIO I use D151 and Tand hydo pad.

just did this on 2 cars and they came out wonderful. Did it on an 07 dark blue BMW and an 87 single stage black Grand National. The GN had way more swirls to begin with, but it was still a significant reduction!

Yep, going with the D151 and the LC tang hydro for starters. Lots of folks I have seen top the d151 with opti-seal and it is so easy... why not? Would the 21 or 26 give longer protection over d151 then opti-seal? In other words, is the extra effort worth it with the 21 or 26 for a daily driver that sits outside year round over opti-seal?

M21 would last longer than M26. Opti-Seal would be easier, probably last a little longer than M21 and not stain the trim. M21 and M26 are great though.

Another option would be to just use the D151 and then add a coat of either wax a week or two later after you wash it again. ;)

D151 will probably give you 3-4 weeks protection.

To me, Optiseal doesn't look that great on darker colors. #21 and #26 (and for that mattery ANY Meguiars real LSP will stain trim). #21 is slightly more durable than #26, but neither is great or terrible. You might also want to consider Collinite 915, as that looks better on darks than 845. It lasts forever too.

For this car, ease and durability are king. So, I think I will go the opti-seal route. Now, for my BMW, that is a whole different story!

Thanks to everyone for the input. I will be doing a lot of work on this car and will post the basics of the results of the products I got from this thread when the time comes. But first, mechanicals and interior.....
