So, I was looking over pics of some of the cars I've detailed cause I'm having a withdraw having not detailed a car for over a month now :faint:
I stumbled on some pics of an Astra I did last year. It was the first car I detailed for money, and after this car, I fell in love with SS paint and detailing in general.
This is pre autopia.
Ok, so this was my co-workers work car and it's rarely cleaned or waxed. I was starting to get the bug for detailing cars and he asked me to do his car for a small fee and of course I said yes.
I did the car at work.
Used a rotary
white and black pad
Farécla G4 and G10
Lots of microfiber.
No clay (didn't even know about it then)
After the car was inside I saw how bad it really was. Also, part of it had been repainted because some was SS and some CC.
The paint was very oxidized and dry.
Clear coated bumper
Clear coated rear bumper
Clear coated gas door
Pretty bad
The hood was very oxidized and rough to the touch
The top was horrible as well
The left side of the car was clear coated
The plastic was also in pretty bad shape
Boy oh boy
OK now, I gathered some microfiber towels (I know, cleanliness was not a big concern of mine at the time) taped up half the hood and went over it two times with G4
And this is what I got
Obviously not perfect but pretty good for just G4. I induced some heavy micromarrin but that would be taken care of later on. By that time the owner of the car walked in and said " What did you do! It looks like that under all that dirt ? " And I said yes :2thumbs:
After that, he left and I continued.
Finished the hood with G4
Finished around the grille
Hood done with G4
Haha,, smeared G4 on to the fender. LOL
Continued along the side of the car
Top of the door
Back door done
Micro marring
OXIDIZED
The spoiler was pretty badly oxidized and took some time
