Wondering if anyone has found a product that works especially well on silverstone. I have been using NXT, it looks nice, but isn't spectacular.

Did this back in September

-Mother's Gold Wash

-Was clayed by him recently-

-Menzerna PO106 (Ceramiclear Line) via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1500rpm

-EX-P by hand

-VM on rims and emblems

-Old No.7 Chrome Polish on exhaust

-PO106 to polishing lighting

-Bold 'N Bright on tires and plastic trim

Zevo,

I have a carbon gray TSX and have used and like AIO+EX-P, 1ZMP+1ZGW and most recently AIO+4*UPP. Each has a slightly different look but all looked really good IMO. I have a few pics of the AIO+EX-P combo in the gallery.

very nice. I don't have a polisher. Can I still get results that nice by hand?

Honestly by hand you can get really good results, as long as you don't have swirls. I won last years Z fest daily driver class and not only did I do it by hand, since i didnt have a machine then, but it was my very first car show and i didnt even really know what i was doing yet. Besides this website I dont know people who use machines. You can use Klasse All in One by hand since it goes on and off pretty easily as long as your in the shade. Klasse Sealant Glaze will make it more glossy and fill a lot of the minor scratches that you cant see, just enough to make it more glossy and smooth. Then you could apply poorboys EX or EX-p by hand extremely easy to remove. The key to depth seems to be topping with a carnauba wax such as P21S or Gold Class. Since the rumor is that P21S doesnt layer well, and your doing it by hand, you may try layering the poorboys ex-p before applying the carnauba.

For the Z fest by hand I had clayed, polished with meguiars polish, and used some scratch X, and then waxed with p21S. My last step was to wipe the whole car down with Meguiars quick detail spray. THat stuff made the car extremely slick and evened out everything. My finish was far from perfect but the rest of the car was so damn clean that the judges couldnt find anything wrong to mark any points off.... anyways by hand you can do a pretty good job.

The answer to the question about it being a dark silver, is yes it is dark. I love the color on sunny days, but when it's cloudy out the metallic particles in the paint don't stand out and it's a little dull. I guess that's how all metallic paints are though.

Since I started learning about and appreciating different paints after joining this website, I've noticed on silvers and other metallics how the metal particles jump out at you on cars that have been cleaned and waxed properly. Out of 300 cars at the last 350Z fest in orlando, I still remember this one particular silver z car that looked like it was dripping wet, like the paint had just been sprayed on, and I've always tried to get that look on any metallic paint job ever since.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is EX-P? I think I may try the Klasse AIO then maybe something on top. The next layer I assume will add depth. Something carnuba?

I like the megs colorx for my silverstone...I normally use the NXT...but after using the colorx for the first time (before I topped with NXT & #16)...I may use just colorx & #16...the colorx brought out alot more of the silver & flake vs. the nxt darkening, bringing out more of the gray but adding more shine...I did use a PC, but all of those products can easily be applied by hand

EX-P is the sealant version of EX. It doesnt use carnauba, its a synthetic sealant.
