Hey guyz and gals i own a 99' Audi A4 i just got heavy into detailing not to long ago and i am looking for some suggestions on product to use on my cars exterior....

My Exterior Quiver Consists of:

Poorboys- SSR1

Poorboys- SSR2.5

Klasse AIO

Klasse SG

NXT Tech Wax

Megs #9

Megs #16

I am looking for a good trim gloss too you can see the trim i have on my car: the front and back bumper are plastic and the middle skirts are a rubber type, so a trim dressing i can use on both would be most desirable! Thanx in advance

I didn't care for NXT on silver, but that's me...there are some folks here that love it on silver.

I'd use SSR 2.5 in trouble spots and then SSR 1 on the whole car before moving to AIO then SG...if you are willing to buy a new product or two, TW85 has gotten great results with AIO + UPP (and the Klasse twins topped with #16 for that matter) and I really liked AIO topped with EX-P. AIO by itself looks great too, but in New York it may not be durable enough for the whole winter.

You can use AIO & SG or another sealant on the bumpers too. I'd think you could at least use AIO on the skirts too, but I'll let others chime in there as I have not personally tried that.

AIO works really well on trim. I have stopped using trim dressings and rely on AIO + whatever sealant I am using (either SG or UPP) to restore and protect.

AIO + SG + #16 is a nice combination for silver. I had AIO + SG + Natty's + #16 on my silver car in September/early October but most of the appearance came from #16. Previous to #16 it was just AIO + SG + Natty's which darkened the paint and muted the metallic but provided a very wet look. Once I put on a coat of #16 the paint really came alive. Nice wet look, very clear, very reflective.

My absolute favorite for silver is AIO + UPP x2. It is the clearest, wettest, and most reflective combination I have used to date, not to mention it really shows off metallic.

For silver/white:

AIO

EX-P

UPP

#16

Paste Glaz

They all look fantastic on light colors, in every combination I've tried. Mix and Match and post some pictures afterward. :)

I think you have all you need. I am no expert but for silver I'd use:

wash

clay

sst2.5 id you have swirls

ssr1

otherwise or continue:

AOI

SG

NXT apply very gently

16

It makes silver look beautiful.

Play around with what you have - it's a very good inventory.

AIO on all trims.

i was gonna say i thought it would remove the sg, i was thinking i could do AIO, nxt, and then sg or #16 but can i but sg and then top that off with a coat of #16?!

yes

PS: experiment - putting a very""""light""" coat of NXT as I suggested may not remove SG, especially if you wait a day or so between.

There is another active thread where some did what I suggested and says it is working out well. (I read that after I posted to your Q.)

hftw Audi 6- I've had at least 8 silver Audis and currently have two. I've tried a *lot* of different products on them over the years. I don't care for how KSG looks on that particular paint. I like the look of UPP *much* better. The KSG looks OK on it when topped with #16 or another good wax, but still, IMHO the UPP just blows it out of the water. I do the S8 with UPP and the A8 I do with various carnaubas, currently #16. No contest IMO.

All silvers are a little different (I like the Klasse twins on other silvers) and if you're very discerning you can find one combo that looks best *to you*. My wife prefers a different look on the A8 (hence the carnauba approach on that one) so it's an eye-of-the-beholder thing.

Having the two cars with identical paint side-by-side shows just how dramatic the differences between LSPs can be. Sometimes you'd swear they were different paints.

Best I've found for Audi silver is 1Z Pro MP (very important, gives a metallic "pop" that nothing else matches) with multiple applications of UPP. Literally blinding in bright sun, very slick so it's easy to do marring free washes.

My wife's fave was Autoglym SRP or the now-discontinued Pinnacle Creme Glaze topped with Souveran, but it was a bit labor intensive for me to keep up so I've been trying different combos on the A8 (different waxes over the Creme Glaze). The #16 didn't please her until I started doing a QD spitshine application with the Cyclo. That changed the look and now she likes it. She also liked 3M Showcar Paste, but that was the older version and I dunno how the new one looks.

IIRC, BradB likes Zaino on *his* wife's Audi.

Gotta find what looks best to *you* ;)

WOW A8 and S8, i would take either or! Man those r some sweet rides....i am currently looking at the S4 so idk, but that for the advice!
