Do you guys ever use Silicone Spray on door gaskets, hoses in the engine compartment, dust seals on tie rod ends, dust seals on ball joints, CV joint boots, plastic engine covers, those kinds of things?
I use it on old weather stripping. I apply to a rag and rub on the stripping until it doesn't absorb anymore. I would keep it away from under the hood. It can mess up you MAF sensor, O2 sensors, etc. Also, it can be sticky and lead to dust attraction.
Wow, kinda odd you ask this.. I sprayed just about every bushing I could find under my jeep today. It sees alot of mud and such so I figured this was the least I could do. Sprayed the cv boots, front upper and lower control arm bushings, sway bar bushings(took those off and cleaned them), rear lower control arm bushings, rear shock bushings, and front clevis bushings(suspension part).. I think I got just about all of it.. I also greased the lower balljoints and one of my grease fittings broke off.. Guess Ill have to fix that before I can drive it.. Dont want any dirt getting in the joint..
I use MEGS ASD on the door gaskets and under the hood..
