Personally I'd try to pick a slightly classier car then that. Reason is that your customers are probably going to be older and more interested in getting their jag or benz detailed then their muscle car. It also gives an impression of quality rather then blue collar.

I think that the Magnet signs are kind of cheep. I always feel as if the person who has them on their car or truck is temporarily in business.

Ugh... I know plenty of people who use magnetic signs on their vehicle and who aren't "temporarily" in business... Heck, the owner of the largest carpet distributor in southern LA uses them on his vehicles and his business has been around decades...

As long as they're clean and professionally done, then I think magnetics look good and when you go to trade in your vehicle in the end you won't have letters faded into the paint.

I think magnets are nice for those who might not want something on their vehicle at all times.

I do agree with finding a little nicer looking vehicle image to put on there.

I was considering magnetic signs, but then I just decided to go with a decal across my rear window... do you guys think that is enough, or should I do something else too? I didn't really want graphics up all over the sides of my daily driver. (the Talon)

im gonna do the magnetic signs and the decal of the company across the back window in white letters cuz i have tint and it will look really good contrasting in the window, the only issue is the slight incline on my window which might make it hard to read so ill have to see what im gonna do.

This is probalby a bad idea, but I was just thinking about something... (tried to sleep but couldn't, so now I'm half asleep and posting on autopia haha)

What about some type of tasteful sign to place on a customers car when on the way from being detailed to their home/business? Something to the effect of "This car was just detailed by xxxxx, if intersted in our services, please call us at (xxx) xxx- xxxx. I'm sure it would just be used on customers cars that were cool with the idea, but like I said, just a dumb half-asleep and posting on autopia idea, haha

I would stick with one font, something more elegant and do a decal on the window. Make it short and to the point so when you are driving around people see your sign and your contact information. I don't think you need to put 5 star quality everytime, let the condition of your car speak for itself.

BTW, an idea I had was to detail half the car and totally neglect the other half, and put a decal ''before and after'' with your info. I'd stop and take a look at someones car if it was swirly, oxidated, and scratched on one side and perfect on the other. Let the customer see for themselves what you can do.:xyxthumbs

My mom has magnets on her new truck and had them on her old van. She had a nice design done and only uses them when she heads out to work. She doesn't want to be forced off parkways or anything with the commercial laws.

Personally, I was thinking of a very subtle vinyl decal on my car. Something with just my business name and phone number. I think my car is flashy/shiny enough to draw attention. If they are interested enough in my car, they should be interested enough in a detail.

I'm bored out of my mind back from doing a detail (about the rain soon so the rest of my appointments were re-scheduled), so I took the liberty of doing some creating of your magnet design:p Check it out.....

WOW! Thats awesome. Do you mind if i use it?

also whats the dpi and image size. i need it to be 300 dpi and 16X20 or something to that effect. Wow... That really is awesome.. I love it!

I think you are going to have a hard time finding a 300dpi version of those pictures, unless you scan them out of a catalog.
