Shrinking digital images

What s/w do you guys like for shrinking digital images. New kodak easy share makes monster files ie 900k. Can't email them or post them. Something free would be nice
 
If you are using Microsoft XP, you can go to this website and download a plug-in called Image Resizer. It will allow you to just right click on the file and select "resize". Then it will give you a few different image sizes to choose from as well.
