Man who leaves dirty pads and towels sitting around? Mine are washed within an hour of being used even if it is only one towel. My wife thinks I'm crazy when I'm washing only one Mirafiber glass towel, it's about 12" X 12". She doesn't buy into the cross contamination concept. :)

[raises hand] Guilty. Sometimes, like this last time (months ago) I finished a job like at 1am, after a rather long day. I rushed to pick up after myself and put the pads to the side. Then.... I forgot. Since I haven't done any correction since then....I kept forgetting. BUT, in my defense, they're not just sitting around. The towels *were* washed within a day or two, and the pads were placed in one my "storage containers"

Same here! But then I remembered I've got a pile of extra gross rim-tire-exhaust only towels waiting to get washed :) I can't wait to share a picture of those filthy suckers!!!!!

I gotta say since I joined Autopia my MF's and Pad's have progressively gotten cleaner as my knowledge base grew.

I'm at the point where all my MF's and Pad's look like new because I wash and decontaminate thoroughly. There's basically nothing left to end up on the Pads or MF's I use on the paint. I do have some MF's I use as rags to wipe up oil from regular maintenance but none dirty from detailing.

All the dirt, grime, and contaminants are removed by clay (or alternative), decontamination sprays, APC, degreaser, brushes, and wool wash mitt's.

Oh and that 3D Towel Clean keeps them looking clean!

This is basically as dirty as my wheel mitt gets:

Most dirt in my bucket:

My towels used for those very jobs are black and are difficut to tell just how dirty they are. These can be filthy and well... they're still black. ;)

Same here except for a few light blue woobie towels. You'll see them soon!

Maybe this thread should have been called " Who is ready for a microfiber and pad cleaning"

going to throw some pads and towels into the dirt, brb

not really sure I'd do that ... we are looking for people who have towels with polish and wax etc ... wheel towels should be thrown away not washed .. the transfer of brake dust in your wash is not a risk worth taking ..
