hey everyone, my first post here. well i have a black camaro and i want it to look nice and shiny. i currently have meguiars gold class car wash, and am probably gonna get meguiars nxt wax (unless you guys can recommend something better). but should i also get polish? or is the wax enough? one of my friends told me to just get polish, and not wax, but im not sure if polish protects the car like wax would. thanks in advance

Jaberocs...

First off :welcome to Autopia

What is the condition of your paint... Swirled, oxidized, Halos?

All of these things are factors to be considered

Start off by washing and claying anything else is determined by the conditions that the paint is in.

Pictures also help.

The "Autopia guide to detailing" will help in asking more specific questions

Good luck

Jaberoks, im a firm believer in conditioning tha paint prior to waxing or sealing. NXT's abilities to cleanse are very minimal, you should be applying a polish and bringing some depth to that black before the NXT. wash, clay, polish, (AIO, ColorX, Deepcrystal, all "by hand freindly") then seal.

ok so its:

-wash

-dry

-clay bar

-polish

-wax

im pretty sure ill need to clay bar and polish my car. i have a black (stock paint) 2001 camaro which i havent washed in a while. its pretty damn dirty  i already have the gold class wash, and i guess am going to get the nxt wax. but can you guys suggest a good and affordable polish, and a good/affordabable clay bar? thanks again
