Should I get a Cyclo?

By clearance I meant for the physical aluminum body of the Cyclo. Those backing plates seem very short, so I was wondering how much clearance the Cyclo itself would have from the paint. I've always used the rubber boots for my Cyclo pads and I can't imagine giving up any clearance or I would really lose some maneuverability. Those plates are tempting...I don't like how the velcro on the rubber boots attach with such a small patch. I feel like I can almost rip if off when switching pads.

Fuji,

I'm not sure I understand. Why would you want more clearance b/w the paint and the cyclo's body? I've never noticed a problem with maneuverability; The cyclo with these the backing plates "feel" better to me, as compared to the rubber holders. I don't feel as awkward, but as always, YMMV.
