I don't NEED either of these at the present time, but I want them :)

Should I?

I didn't NEED half the stuff I ordered either....... But I did it anyway, so you've got my vote to go ahead.

Why is the shipping so much?

I hear ya there! Shipping is high going into Canada. :cry1:

And wait for a better price on the Griots. Amazon runs sales for that price and the kit includes a bunch of other stuff.

Well, you should yes...but you can do a lot better on the price. Autogeek will price match. Send them this link and they will match the price on the DA.

Griot's Garage 10765STDCRD 6" Random Orbital Polisher - Toolfetch.com

Also, I'd wait until they run a free shipping special PLUS 15% off. You can sign up for their VIP e mails and they will be kind enough to let you know when they are running such a special via e mail. Although...I'm not sure they do free shipping to Canada. You may want to PM Meghan and ask her (check the Autogeek forums if this sounds Greek to you...)

I'm currently running a UDM. Ultimate disappointment machine. It vibrates my arms to death so I stick to mainly rotary but I want to simplify things with a useable RO like the griots.

I suppose I could wait for the specials, but then theres only a few months left before I shut down for the winter being mobile here.

I do get the VIP emails but I haven't paid much attention as I order 95% of my inventory from distributors in Canada. I wonder when the next sale will be?

Wow that's much cheaper on toolfetch.com with the 25' cord. If AG will match that I will go that route.

If I recall correctly, polishers are usually excluded from AG deals are they not? Free shipping applies to CONUS.

Where in Canada are you located? If you are lucky enough to be close to a border crossing you can have it shipped to a broker state side and then drive down to pick it up...my broker charges $5 to hold the package for me. I saved $60 - $70 shipping on my last order and it only took 45 minutes (round trip) to cross the border and pick it up.

Polishers are included in the free shipping, however they exclude them from sales unless they have something special like they did around memorial day.

I'm about 1.5 hours from the border and I do have a shipping location there. I only use it for large orders because of the distance (about $60 fuel round trip in my truck at Canadian prices). The shipping difference between home address and the US address for the cart as pictured was $18.

I'll contact AG tomorrow about the price match and the other deals mentioned here and see what they will say.

Still new here, thank you for the "Price-match" recommendation. Just ordered the 25' cord model. Loving this hobby, especially love a clean, detailed automobile.

I did! I ordered today with the price match and applied the autopia coupon. She said she's had 3 orders of the same price match today :heh:. I ended up with an overall savings of $46.51! Thanks to dschribs, SpoolinNoMore, and all that participated in this thread, you have saved me some cash and I'm in your debt. It usually takes about a week and a half to arrive here at my location. I know someone with a nice abused beater in black that I will test this on when I can. If I can manage to take some pics I'd be happy to post up my results, something I've been meaning to do anyway but I am terrible at taking/remembering to take pics during details. Now off to play the waiting game...
