Shop VAC decision...

I left the wheels off mine, how about you? Where do you get replacemenbr bags and filters, Do you have to buy them manf. direct?

C240,

I have to find local dealer to buy those bags and quickly because my wife is using this vacuum to clean the stairs. Have to make her happy to justify all my car spendings.

BTW I bought micro cleaning kit at Wal-Mart couple days ago, works o.k.

Alan, Yes it does take disposable bags and they are pretty easy to change. Like I said, my only complaint was that the vac tended to tip over pretty easy on the rollers. I also wish they had some sort of holder on the vac to carry all of the attachments. Otherwise, I am happy with it.

Woodworking guys swear by WAP products. The 10 gallon is considered the ultimate, but is $550. The aero II, 7 gallons, is also highly rated and is a bit more reasonable at ~$200. Another option is Hitachi's RP30SA, around $230.

These seem very expensive to me, but apparently they are great products, powerful and quiet.

<strong class='bbc'>What do you guys think of this one:

I plan on just using it for car vacuuming. [/b]</blockquote>
I have the same one. It's all I need and it's portable enough to take in my trunk when I detail other people's cars.

You might want to know, I found it for cheaper at Wal-mart. It was $30 (no shipping, too!). Link below

The same vacuum for $30 at Wal-Mart, and my Wal-Mart had it available at the store. If your local Wal-Mart doesn't, you can still order it from the website

Whats the C240? Can you guys supply a link?

It seems that 2-3 HP is good enough for the car, aslong as I clean the filter I think I'll be OK.

I didn't think this would get so many replys.. :bounce

Oh BTW, I got a micro attachement kit at Home Depot for $10.00 for my shop vac. Had like 5 micro attachments and brushes. Haven't tried it yet but it looks great for the dash etc and other hard to reach places. :xyxthumbs

Fein makes a small Vac that is quiet and powerfull w/.10 ft. hose and attachments. Costal Tools carries them $130 I think.
