ShoKar Twins Challenge Klasse Twins

It was a question about process. I was wondering if you were going to go QEW then Shokar because you said you were stuck in the garage. I usually through on my slicker and wash in the rain because it's not that cold here. I'm not sure if QEW leaves any type of residue behind.

Oh, I understand now.

QEW doesn't leave any residue behind.

Hey all,

Thanks for the good comments and the reason i did not post a link was because for the very reason expressed by "eshine".

I was not sure when or even IF it was going to be released.

Personally I would pay about $40 to $50 for a 32oz bottle of the sealant alone as it could do perhaps 60 cars for a pro and last an enthusiast a VERY LOOONG time if applied to 2 or 3 cars.

I would be willing to part out my samples to someone if interested. I am guessing that if we can get enough buzz about this product then it may make the effort of getting the stuff shipped here worth it.

I think I was sent an 8 or 10 ounce bottle of both products so I can maybe send out a few ounces.

Anthony

you have mail:)

A very impressive review of an unknown product :up

I'd like to hear how it does on white as I'm in search of a new LSP for my Caddy. At this rate, I'll hold off on Optimum and wait for more info on ShoKar. Seems like good things may be coming to those who wait :)

I have been testing ShoKar also and my test vehicle was portions of my Olympic White Escalade (other areas still has 4 month old Z2-PRO). This stuff rocks, Period! Like Anthony's vehicle, the Escalade was free of all surface imperfections like swirls and oxidation so this was not a test of rectifying these items. The ShoKar cleanser appears to be strictly a chemical cleanser and does a great job at doing that. I tested this function on the fender wells lips and it removed all discoloration created by red clay, tar and some tire dressing sling. Since this cleanser has some acrylic protectant in it, it works great for door jams, hinges and painted engine compartments as a one step cleaner, protectant and appearance enhancer. You wipe on and just wipe of and what is left is a clean shiny surface. This cleansing product will not remove heavy oxidation nor would I use any similar type product for such activity. A light polish (i.e. DACP) would be more appropriate.

I applied both ShoKar products to my hood and top (High UV and weather harsh areas) about 6 weeks ago and these areas still looks as good as when applied. I maintained by washing with Perls or QEW and QD'd with Sonus Acrylic Spritz. Application of both product is effortless and user friendly. Apply light (proper means) or heavy (wasteful) and both just wipe off without difficulty. I have allowed the sealant to dry for 10 minutes and also an hour. Same ease of removal. I have layered (2 in one day) without any ill effects (hazing, gumming, etc) and never have I received a post sealing haze hours or days later.

What I found extremely satisfying about this product was that, like my benchmark of all sealants - Zaino, is ShoKar's ability to resist adhering to dirt and grime during a drive in the rain. Water (rain) just isn't allowed to deposit its grime and form an obvious dirty film.

So far my experience with the ShoKar is all positive and would be a great addition to my detailing arsenal. :xyxthumbs

I will not give an appearance comparison because your results may vary and I do not want to ignite a LSP comparison war. What I will state is that it looks excellent on white and I am very pleased with both appearance and durability so far. :D

Nice work Chris and I hope you at least try a limited public accessibility. :bow

Disclaimer:Prep is the most important ingredient to a final appearance and I find that most if not all pre-cleansers and LSP will give fantastic results if the prep is taken to its highest level

It needs to be tested against AIO for cleaning ability before I'd be impressed. We need to see an unbiased test on an oxidized car.

Although SkoKar does have capabilities of removing oxidization it should not be relied on for this task. A dedicated abrasive cleaner such as DACP will remove oxidization removal much easier and quicker than any cleaner polish.

Burlyq [/i] You have some competition because Autoglym is winning a lot of klasse folks over too said:
I'm a Zaino/klasse user but I'm not looking for a compromising product personally. Upgrade an SG product and it's a winner, but upgrading AIO would be difficult IMO. [/B]

Shokar does not compromise either product. It was designed to act like a hybrid of both Klasse and Zaino. Think of it this way, Mix half and half Klasse/Zaino and you get ShoKar. A quick outline of our goals were,

-Have a first step product equally impressive as AIO

-Make the sealant as easy to use as Zaino

-Make the sealant much less temperamental than SG

-Make the sealant as slick as Zaino

-Make the sealant as durable as Klasse or Zaino

-Make the shine/depth between Zaino and Klasse, this means,

a.Slightly deeper than Zaino

b.Slightly Shinier than Klasse

These were our GOALS, it will be up to the users to comment on whether or not we reached these goals. We were also not trying to make a product that would be claimed better or worse than either Zaino or Klasse, just familuar to both users.

Originally posted by Burlyq Until you have an instant cure I wont "agree" to change that product either, but when you do let me know Iâ€â„¢ll give it a shake, [/B]

There is no such thing as an instant cure, sorry. To this day I still often switch products rapidly. Its like food, if you eat the same dish for months you get sick of it and want something else.

Originally posted by Burlyq or is there multiple coat capability Eshine? How is it a compromise between K/Z? What's the pricing? [/B]

Yes, the sealant is layerable. If the product does see retail it will be priced slightly higher than Klasse, likely %15 higher.

Like the Klasse twins, do I need to apply the AIO like product first then the pure selant? My finish is absolutely pristine minus some random isolated scratches which I understand need a paint correction polishing process ( Iwouldn't expect ShoKar to address that).

What I was thinking is either applying AIO then SHoKar or even ShoKar right over my exisiting SG: advisable?

Bill, at the moment we do not sell ShoKar but if we did the process is identical to Klasse. What we did was send samples out to a few guys and get their unbiased feedback on ShoKar before we went ahead full steam. We are glad the product has made a great first impression for those who tested it and hope that may be the foundation to the next new product!

BillD,

I would first remove your SG application, use either Klasse AIO or the ShoKar cleanser then apply the ShowKar sealant.

Sadly until more interest and demand can be generated ShowKar may just be a pipe dream. I am honored to be one of the few to experience it first hand.

I have just enough to part out as two mini-samples and it looks like both slots have been taken. Perhaps others who recieved samples can also part it out??

Lets get the word out on this stuff as I am sure that it will win over many hearts and minds.

Adios,

Anthony

Interesting thread. I've never had any trouble with SG, but I do find that AIO isn't too Cyclo-friendly. So I *would* be interested in finding something like this ShoKar...

And it sounds like a *super*-thin application of the sealant isn't really as necessary as with KSG (I would've used less than 1/2 ounce of SG for the CL) in order to get easy on/off.

Chris, if I wanna find ShoKar in Europe, is it good to take a look @ SK-Formel1??? (SK as in ShoKar & Germany made me think that...)

I'm really curious. I have a similar acrylic, but I really don't know who is the manufacturer. The text on the labels are mostly similar. Mine is branded as MacBrite; formerly McTexcon. It could be SK, as well. As SK is a volume manufacturer, they will do neutral, or even badge engineered packaging. Am I right? :D

LOL, I guess finding out who makes ShoKar would be like finding out who makes Klasse! :D There is a large manufacture of aftermarket car polishes/sealants in Germany who does not even market a brand for themselves. Each line is tailored to each private label. So to answer your question, ShoKar is not a relabeled product. Germany has hany acrylic sealants so finding a product with a simular description will be likely.

I've been a die hard Klasse fan for years. Please let us know when these new products will become available. I've tried many products that promised alot, and have found very few that have met my expectations. I would love to try these two products. Thanks!!

I would have no problem paying 25% more than Klasse, if it works as stated. The price per car isn't the big factor, results are.

It took me several years and a lot of pestering emails but we eventually tracked Carlack down :)

Good luck with your new product lines, they sound very interesting.
