Shipping liquid products in winter, will they freeze?

My L5-S1 is killing me!
I assume most products should not be allowed to freeze. This might be a silly question but, would it be bad to order products online and have them sit at my front door for a 1/2 day in 20 degree weather? (plus whatever other below freezing conditions it saw on the way to me)

it's actually a very valid question and crap does freeze. I try to avoid shipping if I know the weather is going to be brutally cold or make it a point to order from someone that provides a UPS tracking # so I can watch and see when the pkg is delivered so I can go home and get it out of the cold. I had a bad experience one time... :(

Even if you are home when it is delivered, if the product was shipped via ground, most of those trucks are not heated. Can easilly freeze in the back of the delivery van. Not saying it definitely will, but there is a chance, especially if you are not home and it sits in their truck overnight.

I always try to order my stuff before the winter.

What insulating value would the bubble wrapping around bottles and styrofoam peanuts give?
Actually, very little. Insulation only slows heat flow - without a source of heat, the inside will eventually reach outside temperature. After a day in a truck, the inside will be the same temperature as the outside. BTW, I have received frozen supplies right off the truck.

I spoke to CMA, they said for ground shipping products can sit in the UPS warehouse for a day or two (unheated). In his words "it's kinda scary [the products sit in a unheated warehouse]"

food for thought...

either way its a crap shoot so whatever anyone is comfortable with I guess...

Ya I got some stuff from Griots one time that had busted because it had frozen. they sent me my money back with a gift cert. :)
