Lots of tuner guys put longer bolts in their hood hinges to raises the hood at the back. Their theory is it's like a cowl induction hood. The think the little gap will cool the engine. Just like a lot of trends ( roof racks as fashion statements and not to actually be used to haul anything. And the god awful rusted hood thing) it looks completely horrible :)

Nice looking S15! I had to prop the rear of the hood open so the stock RB25DET would fit in my S14. I can't say that it helps at all for cooling since now I can drive with the hood closed, the AC on, and a 400HP+ turbo motor thrashing around without overheating. SPAL fans FTW!

yea, the hood is slightly lifted up for better cooling purpose

thanx for viewing guys

I can't say anything about the detailing job but from a layman's perspective it looks God-awful. Has anybody done any scientific testing to see if there's any actual "cooling" effect (as if under normal circumstances the coolant temperature is over the limit anyway...)?
