new here, so sorry if it's a dumb question... Will shampooing (professionally) the carpet get the sand out? After vacuuming for 20 minutes, its stuck in the fibers. Any info appreciated. And if anyone in the Brick/ Ocean/ Mon co area knows anyone that can do this (all i need is the carpet, no detail), please let me know.

Shampooing probably will not help. Have you been using a brush? That helps a lot. As a last resort, you could remove the carpet and beat it out.

Maybe i'm calling it the wrong thing... its not the mats that i can take out and brush, beat, etc. It's the carpet that covers the interior... And it's a Subaru

That can be removed, too. It's just more work. If it won't come out with a brush and a vacuum, that's the next step. That carpet is usually not that much to just replace if you want to.

A stronger vacuum might do the trick if you can't remove it. (Or a more concentrated nozzle, ie small opening)

Ouch! It's Subaru carpet :S

Best bet would be to just beat the carpet and vacuum. It's time consuming :(

Use a carpet brush and high power shop vac. If you need further help, contact me. I'm in Monmouth County.

I use the cyclo poisher with carpet brushes on them. Works great at bring the sand or dirt to the top of the carpet. Then just keep vacuuming.
