Washed with Dawn, clayed with Sonus, rewashed with Zaino's wash. So far I have done the hood, front fenders, and roof of my Sport Trac with SFX-2. I'd say that 90% of the marks have been removed, and the others are simply too deep. I don't feel like spotbuffing with my SFX-1. I'm lazy... I admit it. But then again, this is a daily driver and not a show Trac. But I do like when it looks good. Back to my thread, the leftover dust is a pain to remove, though. I used Z-6 (Zaino users - no need to scold me - I've done this before, and the durability never seems to be sorely affected. I waxed the Trac in October and when I wet it down today, the water still beaded. Plus, if I don't use Z-6 for this, it never is used...) With Sal saying that it makes the surface dust resistant and slippery, I couldn't help but figure to use it to remove this polish dust.
The shine is fairly good (objectively, I would say it looks about 95% like when I took delivery of the vehicle). Is SFX-3 really needed? I can't imagine wanting to do another round of DAP after I finish the SFX-2. It's a great product, but the removal makes me want to go right to Zaino Z-5 and then Z-2. Is the shine a billion times deeper? I read many threads, and one specifically mentions that the difference seems negligible. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
For information, I'm working on my 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac - black clearcoat. After washing it for the first time since winter broke here in PA, I was disgusted with the scratches and swirls. SFX-2 made me smile again. I just don't want to use SFX-3 and lose that smile when it looks .001% better.
