Serious Question about the Dangers of Washing a Car

I'm serious... how do you guys that do this on a daily basis avoid cutting yourself on things like license plates, fender wells, other various places on a car?

My hand is usually either in a wash mitt or wearing nitrile gloves depending on the job I'm doing.... past that just pay attention to what you're doing and use a little common sense.

It happens from time to time (see above)....just try and slow down and pay attention to what you are doing and you should be fine.

My biggest problem is jamming my little finger when going fast. It's all about paying attention and not rushing. I'd rather lose 10 minutes on a detail and still be able to go on to the next one than hurt myself and be out of work for a few days.

situational awareness usually works for me. not rushing and what others have stated above.

+1.

And you'll eventually learn from experience and the cuts/wounds on your hands, Stroke.

Welcome aboard!

I sometimes will scrape the back of my fingers, though fortunately never had anything with the pads of my fingers. I am always wearing gloves when on the interior, where alot of the scrapes(only on seat rail usually) occur

When I started detailing more full time I was constantly cutting my hands or bashing my knuckles especially on interior work. I have been doing it for a few years now and I cant remember the last time I cut myself detailing.

Heh heh, I'm pretty high on situational awareness but I still cut myself now and then, especially if I take off the gloves when doing out-of-the-way areas. There's something sharp up under the cowl of the A8 that gets me now and then even though I know to be careful...can't see/acess it to do anything remedial though.
