Seran wrap to protect fender while working on motor?

I saw a few people wrap there fenders with seran wrap while working on the motor to protect the fender. Would the seran hurt anything if the paint is 100% clean? I tried a microfiber but it keeps sliding off because the paint is so slick. What`s the best way to protect the fender ?

Thanks

what about taping the micro on with painters tape? I would think that would provide more buffer than saran wrap, right? or your could saran wrap over it

I don`t think it would hurt anything But I think there might be another solution that might be safer

No to Saran Wrap

Always used the foam back covers but at the end of the day if you`re really leveraging yourself against the fender breaking a bolt loose it might need some attention afterwards. :) Places where I have worked used the felt fabric fender covers that were supplied by the uniform/rag cleaning companies. These things would trap terrible, nasty things in them (think drill bit shavings or grinder filings). It was ugly. I always bought, brought and maintained my own. Just could not imagine anyone doing that to someone elses car.

Ummmmm... Why not use a Fender Cover/protector??

And, yes Amazon also has them.

Finally... Thank You, 2002glxv6 !!!

Or how about what I do ???

Do ALL the engine compartment, underside of hood, inner fenders, the front of the radiator, back of the radiator, all those little places FIRST...
Then, blow it dry, keep the hood up to get as much water from the insulation to drain down...

Then brush, apply, spray, whatever product over the entire compartment..

Then, close the hood, never open it again until you are done with the Detail...
