see this...what do? (muddy carpets)

These aren't floor mats. He took a picture of the carpet so im confused on saying throw it out. Why would you go through the hassle of taking carpet out? Which i have no idea how to do and if it can even be done easily.

Anyways i would first do a dry scrub and vacuum/blow out as much as possible. After this, if you have one, put a brush on your PC or cyclo. Scrub with carpet cleaner or folex. Then extract. Repeat steps if neccesary.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help guys. I had allready cleaned the car after posting that photo-just wanted to get some reactions to see if i did it right. I would say it's about 60% better than it was, but this was also a younger guy's car which had been used around a ranch-he didn't want to throw a ton of $$$ into detailing it, just wanted it helped out. So I couldn't do the "neglegeted" charge like I typicaly would. I spent about 2-3 hours on it, did as far as I was willing to and then returned it to him.

Many thanks for the how-toos. Unfortunately I extracted it first (made it wet) followed by a big stiff brush and soapy water, then a towel to daub it up...repetated that process maybe 3-4 times on each side then gave up. I didn't take an after shot b/c frankly I wasn't happy with the results.

First time going at something of this caliber and each car is like a learning lesson for me. Many thanks again!

Because that would be the proper way to do it.... Taking carpet out is not hard at all....

I understand, but depends on what the customer wants. That would be a little bit expensive. At least i would think. But i have never done it so i do not know. Just thought it would be difficult to take it out.

Agreed on the budget of the customer portion but, taking carpets out is not very difficult and is the only way I would feel at peace that I did a good job and didn't cause additional issues....

No Problem Zach.... To be honest I was also a little intimidated before I had removed a carpet...

If I were to do this job and the customer was not willing to pay to do it the right way I would explain the potential issues that may/can occur... Most of the time when you do that the customer sees that you are not just trying to make a buck but really have their best interest in mind...
