Sears Fireman Nozzle 50% off

Just giving you a heads up that tomorrow (Sunday June 12) and Monday June 13 the Sears Fireman Nozzle will be 50% for a final cost of $10 plus tax.



Helluva deal considering it has a lifetime warranty, and its been said that it has the same quality as the Home Depot one...but who cares if it doesn't, Sears lifetime warranty covers it :bounce



I'm gonna pick one or two up tomorrow :woot:

Have this one and it works great. Smooth action, good quality and shuts off in both directions. I also picked up a gilmore shut off vavle and a few quick release fittings to swap to kids water toys. Walmart has a nice brass collection of quick release fittings that I use.

Did you get that valve from Walmart? Can it just be used by itself to shut off the hose water from the end it's attached to? I need something like that at work (stable).
 
Yep, you can use that at either end of the hose as a quick shut off. I don't think you'd want it at the end of the hose by itself without a nozzle of some sort because it sort of throws a very tight sharp stream and there's no way of adjusting the pressure, just on or off.



You can get those from just about any store that has hardware or gardening supplies.





BTW, thanks Larry for the heads up on the nozzle. I'm going to have to run over there tomorrow to pick one up. :up

By the way, they also make them with two hose connections so you can have two hoses with only one hose bib (faucet).
 
I put a shutoff valve on my Craftsman nozzle that I got the last time they were on sale.. actually about 4 of them! First three from Craftsman.. plastic one that leaked around the swivvle, zinc one that wouldn't completely shutoff, and finally a brass one that wouldn't completely open w/ the fireman's nozzle on the end. Went to Lowes and got a plastic Gilmour nozzle that works like a charm.



A shutoff valve is highly recommended for anyone using a fireman's nozzle.
 
Sears sold the Brass Gilmore valve and I use it right at the end of the hose to shut the water off. I have extremely high water pressure and the plastic valves would not hold. This valve shuts off completely without a drop of water getting past. The hose suffers a good deal of abuse with the kids and the constant dropping of the hose to the ground tends to break the plastic fittings. The Sears nozzle takes all the abuse with its rubber shell and continues to survive.

The gilmore valve allows you to modulate flow so you do not have to re-adjust the fireman nozzle every time you need to turn it on-off.

I did try the Plastic quick release fitting but it started leaking after a few weeks of use....kids abuse. I went with the Walmart brass units and hooked them up to both ends of the hose. Went back and picked up extra ones to connect to our collection of water tools and toys. Suprised that we have so many but the swap out is convenient with the quick release fittings.
 
thanks for the heads up! i just lost my sears firemen nozzle :mad: , and just went out and bought another one today. heck, even if i do find it... i guess i'll have two and not to mention the LIFETIME WARRANTY, if anything goes wrong even if it's my fault. :xyxthumbs
 
At Walmart it is $5.00 Should have a display close to the automotive section.

My local Sears was sold out by 10AM yesterday morn. I got a rain check along with 25+ other guys according to the salesman.

The good ones, like this one (sure looks like a Bon-Aire), have much more adjustable spray patterns than a typical nozzle. They're rugged, precise and a pleasure to use.



The big rubber end is very important. If it touches your paint it won't scracth or gouge like a metal or hard plastic nozzle.

My local store was sold out yesterday around noon. I ended up ordering two online along with a few other things. They are currently offering a rebate to cover the shipping costs. I ordered yesterday evening and I received a shipping confirmation today.
 
I don't think they are really sold out. I asked the store manager and this is not a item they carry in the store, at least not the store by me but I was told to go to catalog sales. I ended up ordering 2 online and paid $6 shipping but they rebate the shipping back to you as part of their sale today.

I thought it was a simple fireman's nozzle where it only shoots out water like a regular hose would. So this is a multi function nozzle?
