Sealant or Wax to protect from chips?

Hey guys.. I thought I would go right to the pro section and ask this question. I have a Mitsubishi and many of you may or may not know that they use terribly thin paint. I had a friend who does good detail work tell me that layering of a sealant may help protect from chips if enough layers are used. I am just wondering what everyone's opinion is of this.. I have put about 3 layers of Duragloss 105 which looks really nice IMO. I didn't want to apply a clearbra if I could help it since I am a bit low on money but have a lot of time to apply coats of the stuff if it will help. Sorry if it's a stupid question, but you never know until you ask right?

No amount of sealant or wax will prevent your car from chips. Wax and sealant is meant to protect from environmental conditions not physical marring or damage from sand, rocks and dirt hitting the paint.

A clear bra is about the only thing that will help against chips and such.

ahhh that sucks! I hear a lot about the clear bras, but I hear overtime they tend to yellow and not look so hot. I actually considered buying an extra hard clearcoat and having it sprayed over the car, but that would cost even more than the bra.
