Sealant Noob! Thinking Zaino but...

I very recently tried the 1000 Hi-temp on my LS430. Boo hiss. I found it to be unremarkable in every way. Even the durability seemed weak to me. I had completely washed and clayed, applied three coats of the 1000 with a new sponge, about 10 hours apart - removing haze with new MF towels. It reminded me of the Turtle wax of old. Waste of $$ for me.

I have since switched to the Ultima line (with a little Sonus) and have been very happy.

Good luck!!

Wow, that's surprising. I've heard nothing put good things about the 1000P. Especially it's durability. We'll see this weekend when I put it on.

I was reading city forums.com recently and someone from another state is thinking about moving to vermont. Wants to know if the roads are plowed well or not.

One vermonter said: city/state/is doing a terrible job and the roads are terrible when snowing. The next reply was the exact opposite.

How can that be? One of them has to be telling a lie.

I dont know about a lie, however, experiences vary (clearcoat, elements, washing, etc.). One of the vermonters may be driving a backroad and the other a highway.

As far as the 1000P goes, I find it to be great. I will post my experiences soon in a thread, but I applied 1 coat of 1000P on my trunklid, 2x CS on my roof, and 2X Ultima on my hood on Sep. 15. It is time to redo the Ultima'd Hood (flat, irregular beading, slickness is gone), 1000P is unchanged, CS unchanged.

It just goes to show that everyone has different experiences, use what you like.

I am not surprised as to your observations. The hood has heat from the engine that...in my testing.... breaks down the LSP quicker than on the roof or the trunk. In a comparison test I find that I need to keep the playing field level in order to obtain fair and equal testing.
