Sealant and Wax Recommendations for New White BMW

I recently bought a new white BMW X3 and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on the best sealants and waxes to use on white cars?

Any wax or sealant will work fine on your Bimmer... Some of either will cost more and perhaps be a little better than others..

A typical wax will shine for awhile, attract a lot of dust (since its a wax), and then go away after awhile..

A sealant depending on which one, and the amount of prep work you do before applying it, will probably not attract dust, since its not a wax, and may last a lot longer.

Good luck with your research -

With some research you'll find that preparation is far more important than the final product used on the paint. Ideally you need to wash, clay, then machine polish prior to any sealant or wax......yes, even on a brand new car.

If that's more than you bargained for then a clay bar and Collinite Insulator Wax (#845) will serve you well. It is a hybrid of sorts and yields a nice shine and protection that is quite durable.

How is the condition of the paint? Most likely it needs to be prepped. Clayed/polished before being sealed. I can suggest multiple ways to achieve amazing results. It comes down to how much time and effort you want to put in. For a quick and easy job I would recommend Poorboys Polish with carnauba Blue or Polish with Sealant. Will both offer great results. They will both polish the paint, hide some light imperfections and add a layer of protection. If you are looking to do a complete exterior prep prior. Ask away and we will point you in the correct direction.

I 2nd Walter's advice, I really, really like Poorboys Polish with Sealant, then I would top it with some Collinite 845 as RTexasF mentioned. That quick 2 step along with a claybar should get you a nice finish with pretty respectable looks and durability.

BFWD + BFCS is a great sealant combo for white in my experience. Of course, as others mention, you need to get the paint properly cleaned/polished first.

There are so many good waxes and sealants. I have two light cars and I have used the following on them.

Meguiar's M21, M26
Mothers California Gold, Carnuaba
Klasse Sealant

I had klasse on my daily driver (Pontiac Grand Prix) and I made it to 7 months easily with 2 coats.

My camaro currently has M21/M26 which looks great as well.

My next combo will be Detailers Pro Poli Coat paint sealant and Max Wax which is currently sitting on my shelf.
