Hey Im new to this site and it is great. I have a question though. On the side of my pick up there is a scratch and would like to know how I could remove it. I can run my fingernail over it and I do not feel the indentaion if that helps. Thank You

Depends, some scratches need more attention than others. Picture would help a lot.
For off the shelf products I would recommend using scratch doctor or scratchX and clean terry towel. Try to rub it off a little at a time; don't try to remove it all at once. After that I would use Meguiars #9 usually can be bought at PEP BOYS in 16 oz bottle. Use Microfiber towel with #9 and use the same motion in the same direction as you used scratch remover.
Top it with good wax and you should be good to go.
Again, this is and basic procedure of removing fine scratches with out really seeing the damage.
Anything beyond that I would recommend to hire a professional detailer, with knowledge on wet sanding and use of rotary buffer.
Hope that helps,

Very hard to tell from the picture, if it is deep or not. But since you can't catch your finger nail, you should be able to buff it out by hand. But again this is not guaranteed. You just have to decide what you want to do ask a detailer to fix it and pay for it or try to fix it yourself. Pretty much this is your only choices, assuming that you do not want to repaint it.
Thanks,

Well it looks like you have more than just a scratch there. I see a lot of swirls which can be removed but I don't think you want to do it by hand, thats for sure. Do you have any detailing products available? Do you plan on buying chemicals and equipment? Are you willing to buy $200+ worth of products (Porter Cable buffer, pads and products) to fix your situation? If you don't want to do that then your only other choice is to have someone do it for you, but I'm sure that'll be close to the start-up of the detailing stuff. As said, it's up to you.

No I do not have and chemicals or equipment and would really rather not spend that much. If I tried to buff it out is it a possability to buff to much and mess something up? Because I live about 60 miles from the nearest detailer.
