Good news is, I used a ScotchBrite scrubbing sponge to take off the paint someone left on my truck. Bad news is, I used a Scotchbrite scrubbing sponge. Now the area looks very dull, and waxing doesn't help at all. Am I outta luck of is this fixable? Thanks for your advice.:beat

Sounds ot that you scrtached the clear cots and polish and MAYBE a rotary is what it going to take to bring back the luster. Not to worry not all is lost, I would if you do not have a rotary and polish, find someone that can help. What part of the country are you in?

Thanks for the responses. I'm in Las Vegas, NV. I may look into buying a polisher if they're not too $$$

You might not need any sort of machine, just a good polish. I think you probably want something with a mild abrasive. Locally, you'll find some of the Meguiar's line at your larger autoparts stores. From what I've read, I'd recommend you bypass Scratch-X and look for Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover. Personally, I've used (looking around nervously to see who's watching) turtle wax polishing compound (shhh) with good results. But that's been years. If you are more patient than I am and can wait for a ups delivery, you will find dozens of people here who will recommend Poorboys SSR2 or SSR1. A few others will probably recommend Meguair's #9 Swirl Remover. And a handful will recommend Menzerna's Final Polish - all of which you can get from this forum's sponsors listed on the home page just under the gallery.
