Scratch X/NuFinish

ok, so here is my situation: friend/neighbor wanting to sell black Jetta that is in pretty bad shape. He wants to do it as cheap as possible, not my cup of tea but since he's my neighbor i cant turn him away. He is used to seeing me work on cars, but says he just wants to sell it and thinks the paint and head lights are stopping him from selling it. i can do the head lights no problem, but whats a good OTC one step that "he" can use with my PC to get the best results? not perfection, but nice enough to sell. some one one here said "nufinish"?? i ave never used the stuff and am kinda against it. then i searched and found scratch x recommended, but not for the whole car, why would that be?

we already spoke and i went down to my lowest price, but its still not in his ball park, not even in the parking lot. so i offered my PC and pads. he just needs to buy the stuff from AZ or Kragen.

well i think he already waxed it, problem is the car still lookes swirlled bad. i know and he knows he needs machine correction. but as i stated he wants to do it him sefl and im not going to be around to advise him on a multi step process.

I don't think NuFinish has any abrasives in it. ColorX is a decent option but probably won't remove much in the way of swirls. I would suggest either some Megs #80 Speed Glaze or Mothers PowerPolish. Most body shops carry or can get you speed glaze and I've seen PowerPolish at Autozone before.

Many Ace Hardware stores sell some of the more popular Megs professional line of products. Also check with a few of your local auto parts stores. If he is going to be using a PC he should at least use a product that will work and remove the swirls and other minor imperfections.

just sell him $5 of what you would use!

(or just give it to him)

it would be cheap and give him good results

and give up my precious supplies?? LOL thats a thought. i should just give him some rocket polish and call it a day.
