Scratch Removal and Detail for a Blaxima

Got a call the other day from the flyers I put out in some nice neighborhoods :) . The lady was very nice on the phone and let me know immediately she had some scratches from her son's encounter with the garage as well as pixy stick sugar stuck to the headliner. I shot over there at 9am this morning and began.

I did a full walk-around and let her know that all of the damage would not come out since some areas were down to bare metal. She said no problem, that she'd probably have it repainted but it was cheaper to see what I could do before the paint shop took it.

Here is what I was faced with:

After a couple minutes with DACP and a LC Cutting Pad, I achieved this:

And this was the final result:

I did the back bumper free of charge for her since I need some good before and after pics:

AHHHHHHHH!!!! Carpet lines!!! :) I like that Maxima so much more then the new ones. Very good job on the scratch removal. If I was the customer I would be very happy with the results.

Gotta love those carpet lines....I still cant figure out how to do it. Great job on the scratch removal, how long did you spend on that rig? Way to go man, seems like youve really made your business work

Thanks for all the compliments!

blue-sun: The sun was peeking in and out with the clouds yesterday so it wasn't too bad, but yes, I was not in any shade.

BlueRanger: I spend 4 hours total.

andriver: The owner was absolutely thrilled even though she didn't see the car. Her son paid me and told her how it looked over the phone. LoL. Anyways, her neighbor saw me doing it and is gonna book her Expedition with me, so I'm happy :).

poor Maxima...

its a 2002 and it already looks like that :(

good work on it though, hope she does take it to the body shop though, that door is pretty ugly with the ripples in the metal

GSR: Nice job on that GLE. But I definitely agree she would need to get the ripples out.

Did you use swabs to clean out the crevices?

Corey: I agree. I like the A33 Maxima (2000-2003) more than the A34 (2004). Hence the reason I am looking at a 2003 SE Titanium Edition.

PrinzII:

Yeh, the ripples are I guess where the door panel is re-inforced. Her son sure did a bang-up job on it.

I have found a new method I like for crevices. I used to use a credit card (or type) with a terry towel wrapped around it, but this had made them crack. I now use my house key (relatively thin), wrapped in a plush MF and do all the crevices. Works amazing and the MF's are from Ranney so no marring :)

As far as the Maxima's, I like the new one in Pumpkin Orange (what the dealer called it). I am partial to rare colors :D
