Need some professional opinions on this one. This scratch is making me very upset and I need to get it fixed. IM wondering if a professional body shop is the way to go or if there is something over the counter I can pick up/order. Scratch X WONT work..tried it..Too deep..

If it has to goto a body shop whats the chances of them repairing it without a BIG notice if any once finished..and about how much should I expect to pay? IM in Virginia area...

Thanks!

I would say a body shop, if you don't think you could do it yourself. I would have them paint the entire bumper OFF of the car and not on the car taped off. You could always get paint to match and make it much less noticeable but will you be happy with that? Could always try that first I guess.

so what kind of car? like a thunderbird or something?

from the looks of that first pic it seams there is a lot of plastic missing

if it was my car I would look for a used bumper cover

at a junkyard you might even find the same color

or

if it is out of sight enough try some spray paint

Its a 2003 Vett....

My amatuer opinion is it'll probably take a few hundred for a body shop to repaint the bumper. If it bugs you that much and you can afford it, that's the route I would take.

What did you hit? That looks like paint transfer. Alittle reducer will take that off if that is what it is.

look again at the first picture the paint is gone and so is some of the bumper!

if it was my problem, i would have a small body shop ,fill cuts in bumper ,sand and blend the paint, they could do that with bumper on car.big body shop will try to sell you full bumper job .you don't need that

It is impossible to see if part of the bumper is gone from those pictures. The color of the raw bumper is black, that is why I thought it could be just transfer paint. I work at a body shop and we have people come in all the time thinking they need a new bumper or have it repainted and it is just transfer.

so you can't see the ridges on the right handside of the first picture under the cutout?

or the one on the curve of the corner?

maybe I am wrong but it look very clear to me!
