Hello everyone! :wavey

my name is Chen, Hsing-Li and I am 19 years old.

I live in Canada right now

I am not a professional detailer, but I love detailing my family car every weekend.

a friend of mine introduced me to this wonderful form, and I think this is by far the greatest forum dedicated to detailing ever!

sorry for my poor grammar, because I am from Taiwan...:D

I need some advices on scrach removal.

my family owns a JET BLACK BMW E39, and the car has a scrach mark on the trunk.:sosad

the scrach is pretty thin and appears white, I cannot feel it with my finger, but it is visible to the eye.

so... how can I remove it ?:nixweiss

is there any product available in Canada that works great on solving this problem?

Which area of Canada do you live in? I live in Toronto, Ontario. I would suggest maybe Meguiars Scratch X, which is available at Canadian Tire.

Wonderful! I live in Missisauga, so i should able to get my hands on one of these. thanks a million! the weather is pretty bad right now... so I guess I'll try it when it clear up a bit.

Might write a review on it as well...

I also live in Mississauga. Getting products here isn't easy but it's not that bad depending on what you are after.

Meguiars - You can get it at Cmax near the Erin Mills automall (right behind the old Subaru dealer). Pretty high prices though. Supposedly, Meguiar's Canada is going to open online soon (I've been hearing that for over a year though). The carry their pro and body shop lines.

Zaino - Erin Mills Center / Square One: The Barber's Chair

Canadian Tire - for a couple of misc products.

Zellers - 303

Autoglm - Car Buffs in Square One

S100 Products - Local Harley Dealers (I know the one on Front Carries the line, not sure about the one up here by Derry/401.)

3M - Cmax (see above)

Outside of that, it's mail order. Best option is to get together with a couple of people in the area to do a group buy and save on shipping/brokerages etc. I've done that a couple of times for Microfiber towels and it worked out fine.

I'm thinking of picking up some 1Z PP, MP via mail order through DavidB shortly so if you interested, we could split shipping etc. Let me know via Private Message.

As for that scratch.

Clay first using Mother's System (Canadian Tire).

Then try Meguiars No. 9 (Some CT's carry it) or 3M SMR with a foam applicator. If that works, follow-up with S100 SEC or Vanilla Moose for a very very fine cleaner. The top of with a wax or sealant.

If that doesn't work, then you'll need to step to DACP or something along that line.

Scratch X is okay from what I have read but I haven't tried it in a while. I gave it a quick go when a friend of mine bought it but I wasn't overtly impressed.

Welcome to Autopia! :wavey

thank you very much!

I see a very nice I30 touring version in your avatar

I love it!

I30s are known as Cerfiro in Taiwan and Japan

comes with different grills and headlights but pretty much the same car, it's a very popular VIP saloon in Taiwan.
