Scottwax

Yes both can be applied by hand. Poliseal will pretty much only be a chemical cleaner when done by hand. It will lay down a nice coat for the optiseal to be layered over.

They will replace KAIO and KSG

PS would replace KAIO

OS would replace KSG

Im only suggesting these for ease of application for a newb, the others mentioned are great products too.

well I dont know if this changes anything but since im so below my budget I figured I would get a Porter Cable 7424XP. I can still use poli seal and opti seal but with a PC is there any products that would give me better results being that I donthave to do everything by hand now

Over the poli and opti

Totally different products. The 105 and 205 are not necessary if you intend on getting the vehicle professionally detailed as you stated. The two meg's products are for "correction", you initially stated you wanted "protection." 105 is an Ultra Cut Compound and 205 is a Finishing Polish. Poliseal is an AIO (light polish, sealant and wax) to use after a few washes and light marring appear and Optiseal is a pure sealant (for protection only). That's what I meant earlier about finding out what products do and which you need. To be clear, I am not knocking the Meg's stuff (I use 105 very often), but they are not what you originally asked about.

well originally I wasnt going to buy a PC and I was going to be doing everything by hand, but then I figured I would get one since I was so under my budget. So basically Im looking for a shoppin list of things that can be used with the PC. What your opinions on that also. If I did get a PC would I be able to do all the correction myself or is it not for beginners?

No idea without having the car in front of me. Sometimes I have a stack of pads and a bunch of polishes sitting next to a car trying to figure out what is going to work best.

If your paint is relatively swirl free, you should be able to correct and maintain it with a PC. If your paint is in bad shape, it may take a rotary to correct it.

Okay so this is what my final cart is going to look like.

(1) PC 7424xp

(1)Optimum No rinse and wash

(1)Optimum Instand Detailer

(1)Optimum Car Wax

(1)optimum Poli seal

(1)Optimum Opti Seal

(1)Armor All Original Shine

(1)Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay Bar

Okay so here are my last questions for now I guess. Even though I do have a PC and swirling that bad im going to get it professionally fixed, but when I use all these myself what order should go in? Also how often can I repeat the opti and poli with the PC? Will to much use mess with the paint? I figured I can wash and and use spray wax and OID every week but what about the poli and opti and the clay bar? I want to keep paint in the upmost condition period. Thanks

PS and OS every 3-4 months, OCW monthly, OID with every wash. Clay *** needed but you will have to judge for yourself when its needed by feeling the paint. Do the CD test on all your towels and always use a clean side on new panels. Let the chemicals to the work and dont us more than Med pressure when washing.

this is taken directly off my website....

A good regimen to keeping a car looking its best all year long is something along these lines:

• Month 1 – Reconditioning Detail inside and out – this gives the car a fresh clean start to maintain without having to “cover-up” or “mask” defects. It is easier to maintain a clean car rather than a dirty one!

• Month 3 – Waxing for protection – washing will be easier on a freshly waxed car, fallout will not stick to the paint easily, and will maintain that smooth/slick feel.

• Month 5 – Complete Detail inside and out – exterior wash and wax with interior protection added to prevent fading

• Month 7 – One step or two step machine polishing to remove defects/swirl marks

• Month 9 – Complete Detail inside and out

• Month 11 – Waxing for protection

take your car to a pro detailer to have the car all cleaned up and looking its best.

then you get to start with months 3 and on!

That is a routine that I recommend to all my clients and most are thoroughly impressed with how their paint looks 6 months into it! ("just like it did when you detailed it last") i know some people say detail every year, but why drive around in a nice looking car for a short time and wait to detail it again...stay on it, keep driving a clean car!!!

Things you should buy:

pcxp with a 5" backing plate

detailersdomain orange, green, blue, black pads all in 5.5"

optimum compound, polish, ONR

collinite 845

mf towels, drying towels

p21s wheel gel for bi weekly wheel cleanings for brake dust

stoners glass cleaner

medium clay bar, with clay lube

water based tire dressing of choice, with applicator sponge

I would use menzerna SIP and FPII over optimum, but if you are trying to stick with optimum products, so be it...cost is about 1/2 anyway! Megs 105 is a little more aggressive than what you will need if you have the car corrected completely, but it might be nice to have on hand just in case. you can follow up 105 with optimum compound, then optimum polish.

Im lookin to spend around 400 tops maybe 500. What the difference between opti seal and poli seal and which would be applied first? And what about OID?

AH yes 400-500 bucks I was there long ago... $5000 bucks later I have tried alot of products and have narrowed it down... now all I need is a extactor and I'll be set...

damn dude, if you were closer I would sell you my extractor as I never use it anymore...except for the random dirty minivan....every couple of months...maybe I should keep it
