Hi, I know that you are one of the leading people in hand waxing, and I wanted to get your advice. I just bought #82, and I tryed it today, and it didin't seem to do much for the finish. I was wondering if there are any methods, or what type of applicators I could use with it.

I was also thinking about using #83 before #82, then apply Klasse AIO, and then the SG. WIll this combo get rid of most surface scratches and swirls? I would really appreciate your advise on the topic described.

Also, what merthod is the best for #83, and #82, since i will be using them by hand

?

Sorry, your PM list is full, so I had to post this, since I need some advice quick.

If SFP + PC is not removing the defects you have, the odds are you need to step up in product and or pad aggressiveness. Without seeing your paint, I can't get much more specific than that.

I've never used a PC, I'm talking about those store bought waxer/polisher things.

If the paint problems are deep enough, it is highly unlikely that will work and in fact, maybe not even a PC will. Sorry, but without seeing what you are trying to remove it is impossible to say exactly what you need to do over the internet.

If your meaning doing this by hand get a 16X16 terry cotton towel. Fold it 4 times so you have a small thick pad , this will help with breaking down the product and building heat and abrading the paint. Start with DACP about a nickel to quarter size on the car and work in a 2X2 area and start spreading it around in circles then start with back and forth motions until DACP is clear and dry. Wipe off and inspect. If need be follow up with swirl free polish with a fresh towel, with same technique. You really have to work it by hand it takes some stamina, and sometimes more than one application to get almost swirl free:) ! I've done this once by hand recently and lets put it this way you'll be wanting to sell plasma to get a PC after this which is what I'm going to do, but its good to learn by hand cause some places you can't hit with a PC. For your towels you can go to wal mart and get some Jubilee bath towels and cut to size is what I did or Scottwax get some Viking towels from Pep boys that are blue and are the really soft ones. I got most of this info from Scottwax through PM's and threads and researching. Here are some links, hope it helps

Yeah I had a few tough spots(swirls) I did by hand and minimized them but I think a PC or a robotic arm:D would get the really tough ones I got them good enough that you would be hard pressed to find them unless in a certain light. If you want to do touch up scratch repair or swirl marks Scratch X works rather well but I wouldn't use it on the whole car just isolated areas.:xyxthumbs
