Saturday's detail at the dealer

Thomas,

I gave the outside of the BMW a try myself two weekends ago. It came out pretty good, but took FOREVER (about 8-9 hours, and that was WITH a 7336 that I just got). It looked pretty good when I was done, but I still saw problems that needed to be addressed (that's why I didn't post pics). I was afraid to use the PC for too long on some of the bigger scratches, but it did get rid of most of the spiderwebbing that was there, especially on the trunk. I also still need to get in touch with the dealership about the scratches I made in the rear seat.

I hadn't seen any posts from you for a while; I thought maybe you were in the process of moving or something!

Thomas,

Sorry to hear about the computer issues. No pics taken; I was too exhausted afterward, and I had forgotten to take before pics (remembered when I was almost done QEW'ing the car). I'll swing by some time and show you how it looks (of course, after I wash it again!); over all, I'm pleased - but I'm anal and see things that still needed more work. I think I will tackle those in the spring.

Thomas, fantastic work ;D

Your b4/afters help prove that the PC can handle some of the tougher detail jobs too! ;)

Nice work!....another autopian breaking into auto dealerships. Did you get thier rate.....Most of them here in North Carolina are charging between $225 & 300 dollars for what you did.

I went in today to get the check and I found out that the owner chewed both guys out pretty badly for paying that much. $200.00

They said next time the max is around $90.00 :D that they can afford to pay me for a full detail.

Thanks very much - but please remember that I said this happened to be an ideal paint for the pc. It was very soft. I couldn't get the same results working on an Audi or VW

That's cool - come spring time and we will introduce the Makita to the Miata. I would like to see the BMW, with or without a wash first. I will be detailing in front of the house this saturday untill 12:00pm (white Maxima) if the weather is dry.

JimGo,

you've probably seen the thread, but any interest in this detail day I'm trying to schedule?
